Parents’ Responsibilities for “At Home Learning

  • Have a daily routine
    • Wake up, eat breakfast, school, break/lunch, school, etc.
  • Provide a space for your child to work independently
  • Be near your child to frequently check in
  • Give encouragement
  • Check child’s work for completion
    • before break/lunch
    • after school
  • Communicate with teacher via email or phone to ask questions or get clarification
  • Charge devices at night

Use Rewards/Incentives at Home

  • Acknowledge your child’s work with high fives, thumbs up, hugs, etc.
  • Give fake money to be exchanged for a reward
  • Use a sticker chart/ fill jar for completed work
    • When chart or jar is full the student earns a reward

Rewards for completed work/good scores

  • Extra play time
  • Family game time
  • Their choice for dinner or a meal
  • Movie night
  • Trip to the Dollar Tree or 5 Below
  • New technology accessories
