  • Download OpenLitterMap on the App Store or Google Play, or create an account via desktop
    • The free version is sufficient to compete

Start tagging trash

  • Use either the desktop or the app to start uploading your photos of litter on campus
    • The app will help you identify what you’re seeing
    • Knowing where our waste is coming from allows us to work upstream to prevent it
    • Knowing where our waste gathers helps us to know where resources are needed

Competition closes

  • Competition closes with a craft and composting event in April
    • Learn about composting as a way to avert waste from landfills
    • Decorate a pot using recycled materials
    • Take home a native plant seedling planted in homemade compost
