Türkiye, occupies a unique geographic position, lying partly in Asia and partly in Europe. Throughout its history it has acted as both a barrier and a bridge between the two continents.

Türkiye is bounded on the north by the Black Sea, on the northeast by Georgia and Armenia, on the east by Azerbaijan and Iran, on the southeast by Iraq and Syria, on the southwest and west by the Mediterranean Sea and the Aegean Sea, and on the northwest by Greece and Bulgaria.

The Republic of Türkiye was declared in the Grand Assembly on 29th October 1923 by Mustafa Kemal ATATÜRK. He was the first elected president of Türkiye.

Türkiye is a secular, democratic and a unitary state governed by the president, constitution and the grand assembly. According to the state, 99.8% of the population is initially registered as Muslim.

​

The capital is Ankara, and its largest city and seaport is Istanbul.

Turkish cuisine shows variation across Türkiye. Anatolia region inherits many elements of Ottoman court cuisine. The cuisine of the Black Sea Region uses fish extensively, especially the Black Sea anchovy and includes maize dishes. The cuisine of the southeast is famous for its variety of kebabs, mezes and dough-based desserts such as baklava, künefe. Especially in the western parts of Türkiye, where olive trees grow abundantly, olive oil is the major type of oil used for cooking. The cuisines of the Aegean, Marmara and Mediterranean regions are rich in vegetables, herbs, and fish.

Under the leadership of Vehbi Koç Foundation, Beylikdüzü Koç Primary School was opened with a ceremony on Friday, October 22, 1999 and started its education-training life. As a result of the separation of primary and secondary schools, our school continues its education life as Beylikdüzü Koç Secondary School.
