  • Shatrunjay is Divine since ages. It means that it will never get destroyed but will become smaller or bigger in size.

  • At first, Shatrunjay Taleti was in Vadnagar and later in Vallabhipur called Vijay Taleti. Now, it is in Palitana and it is called Jay Taleti.

  • On every spot and corner of Giriraj, Millions of souls have received Moksh (after the end of their life circle) That is the reason Shatrunjay is worshipped.

  • Bengali Babu Dhanpat Singh had made this derasar in the year 1950 in memory of his mother Mehtabkumari. Thus the derasar was named Babu nu derasar.

  • Like Moti Took, here the main God is Adinath bhagwan. Behind the derasar, there is Rayan pagla (footprints of Adinath below Rayan tree). Derasar of Pundrik Swami is just opposite to Adinath Bhagwan’s idol..

PIC -5 : Hinglaj Mata

  • Goddess Hinglaj mata looks similar to Goddess Ambica.
  • Once upon a time, there was Demon named Hingul. He used to irritate and torture the worshippers going for jatra.
  • Goddess Ambika fought with him and defeated him. Hingul apologized and requested to make an idol similar to goddess Ambica so that he can help people to do jatra.
  • Thus, the idol is called Hinglaj mata..

  • Here there is Kalikund Parshwanath Bhagwan's footprints. Kalikund tirth is situated in Gujarat near the village Dholka.

  • Here there is idol of Kshetrapal Dev and Goddess Padmavati.

  • There are 24 deris(small temple) of 24 tirthankar's kevalghyan kalyanak. In the deri ,there are Footprints and chaitravruksha.

  • There are 4 idols 1) Dravid 2) Varikhil 3) Aimukta 4) Naradji.
  • Adinath Bhagwan had a son named Dravid. Dravid had two sons Draavid and Varikhil who afterwards became saints. Along with them, 10 crore soldiers had also taken diksha.
  • There after all went on fast (anshan) for 1 month on Kartik shudh Chaudas
  • Due to this, they all attained Moksh with all the 10 crore munis.

  • Eimukta attained moksh on Shatrunjay.
  • He made the Shatrunjay Lagukalp Sutra that stated the importance of Shatrunjay.
  • Naradji attained moksh with 81 lakhs munis on Shatrunjay.

  • There are 5 idols :-

  • 1,2) Ramchandraji- Bharat had gone to Moksh with 3 crore munis.

​

  • 3) Thaavajaa Putra had taken diksha and had fasted(anshan) for a month with 1000 sadhu's and then they all went to Moksh.

​

  • 4) Shukra Parivrajak was not a Jain but later he took diksha and took anshan(fasted) for a month with 1000 sadhu's and then all went to Moksh.

​

  • 5) Shailkacharya also took anshan(fasted) for a month with 500 sadhu's and they all went to Moksh .
