Title I Parental Engagement
Dean Stanfield: Title Coordinator
Title I is a supplemental reading and math service offered by our Title I teachers. They provide additional instruction to further assist students in reaching grade-level expectations. We assist Title I students in both the whole-group classroom and in small-group settings. This program is a great opportunity to build reading and math skills and boost the students’ self confidence.
How Is My Child Selected For the Title I Program?
Students are selected based on the following criteria:
Edison Local Schools receives federal Title I funding to help ensure every child has the opportunity to succeed. Title I allows us to provide extra support in reading and math, small group instruction, additional classroom resources, and family engagement opportunities. Our goal is to give all students—especially those who may need a little extra help—the tools and confidence to reach their highest potential.
First the Federal Government provides funding to each state.
Then,State Educational Agencies send this money to school districts.
Finally, Title I Schools identify the students at their school who need the most educational assistance based on the criteria that the school has chosen.
Parent & Family Engagement Plan
The parent and family engagement plan ensures that parents and family members have an active part in the education of their children, that they are invited to participate in school activities and given opportunities to provide input and feedback in decision making processes that affect their children when appropriate.
Please review the parent and family engagement policy /plan which can be found on the curriculum page of our district website.
School-Parent Compact
A school-parent compact is a jointly-developed agreement that identifies and outlines how parents, students, and teachers will work together to build and develop a partnership that gives individual support to children so they can reach and exceed academic standards.
Please review the School-Parent Compact which can be found on the curriculum page of our district website.
