  • Temperature is the measure of how hot or cold something is. �
  • We measure temperature using a thermometer. It is important we measure temperature carefully and accurately.

Different Types of Temperature

  • We can measure our own body temperature using a thermometer, which is important if we are feeling unwell. Average body temperature is around 37°C.
  • We can measure the air temperature. This can help us prepare for certain temperatures and wear the correct items of clothing.
  • We can change the temperature of some appliances, such as an oven for cooking and a fridge for keeping food cool.
