Creating a Seesaw Class for PD

  • For your session, you’ll create a new Seesaw class so that teachers can get hands-on experience with Seesaw prior to leaving your session. They will join your class as a student.
  • The next slide shows you how to create your PD class.
  • As participants enter the training session, hand them one of these cards, which will assign them a student number for adding content to the Seesaw class.
  • Here’s the document you can use which lists student numbers for creating your class.

Preparing for Your Session

Pacing Tips

  • There are over 80 slides in this deck and you only have about 45 minutes to present. Of course you can condense or extend the time as your session allows. However, most slides will only be shown briefly.
  • Within 10 minutes of starting your session, you’ll want to have participants joining your class as a student.
  • Several of the student examples have clickable links you can follow and listen to. You won’t have time to play them all. Pick and choose a few to highlight. Make sure your attendees have access to this deck after so they can listen to all of them if they would like.
  • Participants will add their response three times during this session. This allows them to experience Seesaw as a student to truly understand the flow and ease of use. Make sure to set a timer for each activity, try two minutes to keep the pace moving.
  • Reserve at least 5 minutes at the end of your session to answer questions.
