  • Change of Treasurer: Joe Harvey was elected BPOA Treasurer but had to resign due to increased responsibilities with his recent promotion. Leigh Everhart volunteered to serve in his place. IAW BPOA bylaws, Leigh was appointed as his replacement by the BoD on 18 March, 2025.

Past due fees owed/fees collected/remainder still owed

  • As of March 2025: 39 overdue by $8,773
  • 19 members are late for $90 or less each
  • BPOA Letters were sent in 2024 to 22 property owners owing greater than $250 with a time limit to respond and pay.
  • 2 paid in full, 2 partial payments (just from BPOA letters)
  • Non-responders are being referred to attorney for collection action and filing a lien against their property
  • Of the 9 collection letters sent by atty so far:
    • 3 are ready for liens
    • 1 is in dispute
    • 5 are still in process or have not responded

Block Captain Duties

  • Act on behalf of the Welcome Committee for new residents; Deliver welcome packets
  • Promote BPOA goals to maintain sense of community, quality of life, and property values
  • Get to know your immediate neighbors and let them get to know you
  • Represent the BPOA to your neighbors to keep them informed
  • Promote BPOA services: community events, maintaining common areas, resident internet portal, dog bag stations, trash pick-ups, covenant enforcement 
  • Advise BPOA of new and departing residents
  • Advise BPOA of resident issues and complaints
  • Help BPOA Secretary validate mailing addresses of owners, especially for rented houses
  • Send cards upon illness, death, or other major events
  • Promote semi-annual resident meetings and special community events
  • Recruit volunteers for BPOA functions, events, and especially for more block captains to take over your block if you are already a BPOA officer or break down larger blocks into more manageable size blocks

    • NCDoT should shorten median island this year
    • NCDoT US-17 reconstruction should complete within a year

    • Our landscaper has quoted reasonably for initial improvements to our BPOA signage and improving our front entrance island
