open Chrome

In the address bar type: chrome://flags

In the search bar, type "quic"

Click the drop-down and select Disabled

When Default is selected, Chrome will attempt to use QUIC

When prompted, click Relaunch Now to restart Chrome and apply your changes

If you are experiencing slow connectivity issues on some devices that are not currently managed by our DOE Google Domain or Intune, it is most likely due to the QUIC protocol. While many sites are now using QUIC, please note that the DOE does not currently use this protocol.

To resolve these connectivity issues, please follow the instructions below to disable the QUIC protocol on affected devices:

For Google Chrome:Open Google Chrome.In the address bar, type chrome://flags/ and press Enter.Search for "QUIC".Find the setting labeled "Experimental QUIC protocol" and set it to "Disabled".Restart Chrome for the changes to take effect.

For Microsoft Edge:Open Microsoft Edge.In the address bar, type edge://flags/ and press Enter.Search for "QUIC".Find the setting labeled "Experimental QUIC protocol" and set it to "Disabled".Restart Edge for the changes to take effect.

By disabling the QUIC protocol, you should notice an improvement in connectivity on the affected devices. If the issue persists, please contact the helpdesk for further assistance.
