A STUDENT’S GUIDE TO GOOGLE CLASSROOM

Classroom is a set of tools designed to help save time, keep classes organized, and improve student communication and collaboration.

  • Access anytime, anywhere—Access Classroom 24/7 on the web or via the Android and iOS Classroom mobile apps.
  • Track classwork and materials.
  • Share resources and interact in the class stream or by email.
  • Submit assignments.
  • Get feedback and grades.
  • Communicate with guardians.

1. Login to your school Google account. The best way is on the Chrome browser. Your

school may have pushed out extensions that help to do classwork.

2. Join any classes that you have been

invited to.

The MENU

1. Calendar - See your assignments on a calendar and

when they are due.

2. To-do - See all your assignments in a to-do list.

Your missing assignments are listed first, followed by a

chronological listing of all other assignments.

3. Classes - Toggle between your classes.

Classes

Stream - This is your social hub. This is where announcements can be made by the

teacher. Students are able to share resources or ask questions. Any assignments from Classwork are announced on the Stream. Be mindful to only post appropriate school communication. Your teacher can “mute” you if you are not appropriate.

Classwork- Click on an assignment to view the instructions and any documents that go along with it. If there is a document, click on it and you can work directly on it and turn in with one click.

If there is not a document, you can create one now or add later.

Open with Kami - Kami is a Google extension to help you “write” (draw, text, highlight) directly on a document. When you click on a document, you will see a blue tab to click to have the option to use Kami.

Click Turn in. You have turned in your assignment!

Unsubmit- Did you make a mistake? Did you turn in before you were finished? Don’t worry! Unsubmit!

View Work- View the work you have to do, your completed assignments, and any feedback from your teachers.
