Wine Tourism in Ukraine. Wine Routes of Ukraine. Project Contribution.
Promoting the Black Sea Region as a Wine Tourism Destination
The unique climate of Ukraine makes it possible to produce wine in almost all regions of the country.
However, the main leaders are the western and southern regions . The most popular regions are Danube Bessarabia (Odesa region) and Transcarpathia (Zakarpattia region). There are wineries, whose histories go back to the nineteenth century, as well as new
private producers trying to conquer the market. Thus, despite their slow growth, the wineries here have such charm and quality that they are worth discovering.

According to current situation in Ukraine, it is most likely to be expected to expand wine tourism services, expanding activities for tourists in the next 5-10 years.
Respondents expect tourists on Ukraine’s wine routes in the next 5-10 years from Poland (27%), Moldova (18%), Turkey (13%).
Due to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in 2022, respondents consider the following problems to be the most difficult to solve in the next 2-3 years (more than 50% of respondents):
1) Reduce the area of vineyards in the Ukrainian Black Sea regions
2) Increase in youth wine sales structure, decrease in sales revenue
3) The difficulty of moving tourists across regions that have been destroyed
Least expected soon “Loss of authentic technologies and recipes in winemaking” (less than 5%).
Thank you for your time!
