Endorsing a candidate

Tell their members who to vote for and let state & country who they are backing

Political Action Committees (PACs)

Gives money to support political candidates

Lobbying

Persuade government policy makers to make particular decisions regarding legislation (laws) by hiring individual lobbyists who work for the group

Using the Legal System

Interest groups like the NAACP have used the legal system to get their interests heard or policy changed. EX: 1954, the NAACP used its legal arm, the Legal Defense and Education Fund to help bring change to segregation laws in Brown vs. BOE

Mass Media

Using newspapers, magazines, radio, TV, films, recordings, books and the internet to endorse a candidate, issue, or promote participation in the political process.
