THE IMPORTANCE OF MENTAL HEALTH
By: Adrianna Payne & Ta’Rissa Priest
OVERVIEW
Mental health includes our emotional, psychological, and social well being. It affects how we think, feel, and act. It determines how we handle stress, relate to others, and make healthy choices. Mental health is important at every stage of life, from childhood all the way through adulthood.
PROBLEM STATEMENT
Poor mental health is a problem because it can leave parmented and long term effects on people minds. If poor mental health is left untreated it can cause severe emotional, behavioral and physical health problems. Poor mental health can affect a person’s performance in school, work, and in public places. Poor mental health can also cause people to have bad relationships with their family, friends, significant other and affect the way the person thinks.
OBJECTIVES
You can spread mental health awareness by taking the time to educate yourself and inform others about the different signs and symptoms of mental health disorders. You can also volunteer your time to go to mental health programs, events, fundraisers and start conversations about mental health with others.
