How Does the Fruit Sale Work?

1. Students contact customers “Psst, Do you want to buy some oranges and grapefruits?”
2. Customers order oranges/grapefruit or make a donation online at dowhighfuit.org now through Jan 9, 2026
3. DHMB orders from Jack’s Fruit and Meat Market
4. Jack’s delivers fruit directly from the orchard to Dow High Music rooms on the morning of Thursday, Jan 29, 2026
5. Student and adult volunteers sort and package fruit during class on Thursday Jan 29
6. Customers and students MUST pick up fruit at Dow High on Jan 29, 30, 31. Students load fruit in drive thru line.

Why A Fruit Sale?

It’s our #1 fundraiser that the community looks forward to! It’s been going strong for over 50 years!

The Music Boosters support the band, choir and orchestra programs by providing funding for items that are NOT within the MPS budget.

​

Scholarships - $10 ,000

Instruments & Equipment - $10,000

Professional Music Expert Services - $19,500

Trailer - $5,000 (yearly maintenance)

Uniforms and Choir Robes - $11,000

Transportation Buses not covered by MPS - $8,000

How Much is the Fruit?

Oranges -

$32/full case (40 oranges)

$16/half case (20 oranges)

Grapefruit -

$34/full case - (20 grapefruit)

$17/half case - (10 grapefruit)

How Do I Earn Points?

1 point = 1 FULL case of fruit

= 1 HOUR of volunteering

= $20 donation

YOUR GOAL = 10 points

Level One Prizes:

Achieve sales/donations of $250 or more and receive a coupon for a free treat at the Charger Shoppe

Achieve sales/donations of $500 or more and receive a $10 Amazon Gift Card
