What we do!

The GC Band Boosters is a dynamic group of parents, grandparents, siblings, staff, alumni, alumni parents, and friends who donate their time and talents to help organize contests, concerts, uniforms, props, community service, and transportation.

The Boosters are frequently found cheering from the stands, donating food, cooking meals, caring for uniforms, carrying or pushing equipment, decorating, cleaning, sewing, setting-up, tearing-down, and traveling (usually with a smile on their face), all in the name of supporting the students who are GC Band & Guard!

Greenfield Central Instrumental Music Department Rules For Success

Students

  1. Show up EVERY day ready to be a part of the team and get better. Ulterior motives….stay home.
  2. Understand you’re part of a team and act accordingly. We rely on each other like family.
  3. Set your sights on goals and achievement, not points and trophies.
  4. Accept your role and its importance, and work to be the best in that role. No one can replace you.
  5. Be accountable for your actions and their consequences. If you’re not sure if it’s a good idea, it probably isn’t!!

Director

  1. Ensure the experience for all groups is as positive as possible.
  2. Create a vision for the program and

communicate it, as well as its progress, to all involved.

  1. Offer opportunities and training for student leaders.
  2. Develop life skills that will transcend

band and set students up for life-long success.

  1. Stay the course. One brick at a time.

Parents

  1. Support your kids in what they do. It’s the unwritten contract of being a parent.
    1. No one can replace you in your kid’s life. They rely on you and need you more than they are willing say.
  2. Get involved! Everyone’s schedules are full, but you will have a better understanding of what your kids are going through if you’re actively involved with them.
  3. Contact Mr. Wing with problems before looking for other answers.
  4. Understand everyone wants what is best for your kids. Don’t assume we’re trying to hurt

them.

  1. Cheer for ALL of our kids the same as you cheer for your own. We all succeed together.
    1. Side note – Cheer for ALL other groups the same you cheer for your own. They all work just as hard as we do and

deserve to be recognized for that.

Staff

  1. Teach kids up! They’re only as good as you make them. Build confidence through your instruction.
  2. Earn respect by giving respect. Kids don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.
  3. Be accountable for your actions and their consequences.
  4. Create an environment where mistakes are ok and team spirit supports each other through the learning process.
  5. Stay the course. One brick at a time.
