Iran Solidarity: Woman, Life, Freedom

1979

The Islamic Regime (IGRC) took power IN Iran in 1979 and stripped Iranians, especially women, of liberties including but not limited to: playing music, dancing, holding hands with a partner in public, showing arms, legs, ankles and hair, being in mixed spaces (schools & sport centres are segregated), freedom of speech and having certain occupations etc.

  • Forced people to make false confessions or lie about relatives’ causes of death
  • Hijacked ambulances to discreetly transport weapons and kidnap protestors
  • Sent spies into hospitals to kidnap injured protestors
  • Stormed the top University in Iran, taking students to Evin prison where protestors & other offenders of the regime have been held for decades
  • Set fire to Evin prison, attacked the prisoners with bombs and guns
