Navy and NJROTC Male Hair and shaving Regulations

Standard Requirements

Hair must be neat, clean, trimmed and present a well-groomed appearance

Cadets must be clean shaven when in uniform and when involved in NJROTC events

Length of Hair

Bulk of hair no more than 2”

Length of hair no more than 4”

Around ears and neck, hair must be tapered upwards ¾”

Hair cannot touch ear

Sideburns cannot go below the halfway point of the ear. They must end in a clean shaven horizontal line.

One narrow part is allowed. The part must be reasonably straight, but can be combed, cut, clipped or shaved
