Beaver Dam Creek

June 26,1862

Lee attacked McClellan's right flank north of the Chickahominy River. The Confederate attacks were fought back with heavy casualties causing them to retreat near Gaines Mill.

Gaines Mill

June 27,1862

Lee sent a large amount of his force to attack the Union troops and drive them across the Boatswains Swamp river. After many failed attempts Lee reorganized and charged the Union. The union then retreated burning the bridges behind them.

Savage Station

June 29,1862

14,000 Confederates faced off against 26,000 Union soldiers.

The Confederates sent half of their force to fight the Union, same with the Union force. After dark the forces retreated and suffered about 439 casualties.

White Oak Swamp

June 30,1862

White Oak Swamp was an off battle of The Battle of Glendale. While the Battle of Glendale was going on a smaller skirmish was going on in the same area. The Union had stopped a group of Confederates at the White Oak Swamp Bridge. The two sides ended up in a gunfight. The main Battle of Glendale was going on a few miles away.

Glendale

June 30,1862

Confederate forces attacked Union forces and captured some of their soldiers. The confederates made an attempt to turn the Union left but were held up by Union gunboats at the Potomac River

Malvern Hill

July 1,1862 Union forces set up a defense of Malvern Hill. Lee attacked these defences with many front assaults but failed to break them.

This left the Union with a positive feel for the battle.
