How to use Swivl

9 of 31

1. The first thing you will need to do is set up a “Swivl Cloud” account online. This is how you will be able to send your videos you create on the ipad, in the swivl app, to yourself for saving, editing and sharing.

2. Go to http://cloud.swivl.com/login to create an account. You can also create your account right from the Swivl app’s sign-in page.

Set up:

1. Make sure Swivl and marker are fully charged.

2. Attach Swivl to tripod or set on a sturdy secure surface

3. Remove marker from Swivl base and slide into lanyard to be worn around your neck.

4. Place ipad into Swivl base. You can have it facing either direction, but know that the rear facing camera will give you better picture quality.

5. Plug the audio cord into the base and into the ipad.

Saving your video:

1. Once you have finished recording, tap on the 3 lines on the upper left corner of your screen.

2. This will bring you back to your home screen and you should see your video here. To save your video to your cloud simply tap the the cloud with the arrow that is to the right of your video.

3. To send to your cloud tap ‘Swivl Cloud.’ From this pop up menu you can also preview your video, save it to the photo gallery on the ipad or delete the video.

4. An upload window will appear while your video is sent to the ‘cloud.’ This window will disappear once the upload has completed and you will be taken back to your main page. There should now be a red garbage can next to the cloud icon by the video. You can delete videos from here without deleting them from your cloud once they have been uploaded!

5. You will now need to go to your ‘Swivl Cloud’ through the website http://cloud.swivl.com/login Once you have logged in you should see your home page with your “library” of videos.

  • Your video may not appear right away or may say “coming soon” as it is being uploaded. If it seems to be taking over an hour, try uploading again.
  • Swivl is working to upgrade their speeds and it can be very dependent on the amount of traffic the site is getting at any given time!

**Note** This screen-shot was taken from the ipad, it may look a tad different when you go in through your computer.

Notes:

You can also upload your video from the ipad directly to YouTube. If you are interested in this we can help as needed.

Inside the Swivl’s case you will find a quick reference guide.

Make sure to sign out of the Swivl App and Google on the ipad air before you return it so that others do not have access to your videos.
