What is Iron Chef EduProtocol?

  • A Summarizing & Synthesizing Activity by Marlena Hebern & Jon Corippo
  • A PLAN-COLLABORATE-DELIVER strategy where content changes but format is constant!
  • Teacher created SLIDE DECK--with built in resources & instructions...think mise en place!

Why Use EduProtocol?

  • Streamlines delivery of content from teacher to student
  • Framework can be used repeatedly
  • Uses a TEAM approach with a shared slide deck (4’C’s)
  • Focuses on content, not process-----yields growth
  • Engages and challenges students to complete work in a given time frame
  • Works well with all grade levels/content
  • Saves paper by using technology

How Does Iron Chef Work?

  • Like the TV show, Iron Chef is...
    • structured, but competitive
    • using limited time &

resources to complete a task

  • Teacher prepares the slide deck template with resource link(s)
  • Students use the content/info to complete their own slide before time runs out (early finishers perfect their slide)
