STATIC RELAY:-

Static relay is a relay which uses solid state components like transistors.

COMPONENTS OF STATIC RELAY:-

The output of a CT or PT of a transducers is rectified by the rectifier .

COMPARISION OF STATIC AND ELECTROMAGNETIC RELAY:-

  1. Static relay consumes less power than electromagnetic relay.
  2. Quick response ,long life ,shock proof and less maintenance .
  3. Quick reset action.
  4. No effect of gravity on operation of static relay.
  5. Static relay are very compact.
  6. These relay are design for repeated operation.
  7. The rick of unwanted tripping is less.

Static relay are classified into six types

            • Electronic relay
            • Transducer relay
            • Rectifier bridge relay
            • Transister relay
            • Hall effect relay
            • Gauss effect relay
