We will understand the changes to the PFT for 2025, and the expectations for administration and recording student progress for this assessment.

The PFT is part of

CA’s state testing program. CA chose the FITNESSGRAM® as the annual PFT for students in public schools.

The FITNESSGRAM® is a comprehensive

health-related fitness test.

You will know how to administer each of the five required areas, record student progress, and work within a timeframe that supports us all.

Assessment Services will provide pre-printed rosters/score sheets to Site FITNESSGRAM Coordinators.

Please print and distribute to teachers before the PFT test administration.

  • Extra blank roster/scores sheets will be included
  • Blank sheets will also be available on the Assessment Services webpage for download.

Recording Physical Fitness Test Scores

Only input the student’s actual score (time or count). You only need to administer one assessment in each tested area. The start date is REQUIRED.

Roster/Score sheets are to be maintained at the school site and can be shredded at the end of the school year.

To enter results, you must login to the FitnessGram Web System.

        • Begin by going to the Research and Evaluation website:

https://itd.sandiegounified.org/it_resources/research_and_evaluation

        • You will be presented this page where you must login.

After logging in, your district ID will be displayed in the upper right corner and the “My Responsibilities” link will be active.

- Click on the Staff-My Responsibilities link

Locate the link for the FitnessGram Web System and click there.

        • Check each box where the student participated in that portion of the test.
        • To save the data, scroll to the bottom of the page and click ‘Submit’.
