TAKEAWAYS…

  • The NJGPA Adaptive is a comprehensive test given to High School Juniors that encompasses three years of content and multiple standards in Language Arts and Math.
  • The assessment is used as the graduation testing requirement. The test is adaptive meaning questions change in complexity as students progress through the test.
  • Feedback from the test indicates areas that the district should target in coming years for future students.
  • While we did experience a slight decrease in those categorized as Graduation Ready in Language Arts, the district did increase for the second year in a row those identified as Graduation Ready in Mathematics.
  • We will continue reviewing data three times per year at the high school following the administration of benchmark assessments in ELA and Math to the High School.
  • The district is offering tutoring to all students through the 21st Century program including but not limited to English Language Arts and Mathematics.
  • The district continues to grow supports in mathematics and literacy for English language learners through the initiation of the Newcomer program.
  • The district is providing teaching staff additional professional development on small group instructional design within the block schedule setting.
