PARTS OF AN ORDINANCE
4. Enacting or ordaining clause- indicates the enacting or ordaining authority, or the source of the ordinance
5. Body- indicates the provisions of the ordinance
6. Penal Clause- indicates the provision of penalty on the violations of the ordinance
-applicable only to general ordinances and tax ordinances
7. Repealing Clause- indicates the statement of amending or repealing other earlier approved ordinances that is not consistent with the provision of the present ordinance
-appropriation ordinances does not have a repealing clause while special ordinances seldom carry a repealing clause
8. Effectivity Clause- indicates the date when the ordinance takes effect
9. Date of Approval by the Council- indicates the date when the ordinance was approved
10. Signatories- indicates the names and signatures of those who attested and certified that the ordinance was duly enacted
