    • It is STRONGLY encouraged you do Part 1 first, as most of Part 2 content will not make sense without Part 1.
    • Please see facilitator notes for tips on how to run this content module. It includes specific ideas on how to facilitate if some members missed the first part.

Some Core groups love viewing slides to aid in conversation - others don’t! Select any of the below slides to aid in your group's discussion.

If I don’t know who you are as a person, I don’t know who you are as a leader.”

OPENING REFLECTION

  • Which of your values did you think about the most over the past month?

  • Did you catch yourself living in alignment with your values… or not? What did you experience? How did it feel?

  • Did you share your values with friends, family, colleagues?

  • Did any recent situations at work really challenge one of your values?

OUR VALUES & OUR LEADERSHIP BRAND

People can’t see your intentions or your thoughts.

They can only see and experience your behaviors.

The most important thing is to keep living in alignment with your values. Are you acting in line with your stated values?

ACTIVITY: LET’S TRY IT

I value ____ above all else in my work

I am at a stage in my career where I value ____

Whereas I used to value ____ in my career, now I value ____

This shows up in my work when I ____

This comes to life in my work when I ____

____ is a pillar of my leadership style

____ is a key part of my approach to leadership

If there’s one thing you need to know about me as a leader, it’s that I value ____

Let’s craft our own personal brand statements, experiment, and give each other feedback.

A PDF will be provided with thought starters (like these ).

But first, some examples…

Examples:

I am at a stage in my career where I value innovation.

In the past, I solely focused on results and “checking the boxes”. As a leader of a global organization now, I see how important it is to intentionally develop my team’s innovation muscle.

Integrating more time for innovative thinking has led us to reduce duplicative work and find efficiencies, which is another incredibly important part of my leadership brand. As a leader, I’ve learned that my team can’t be effective if we aren’t both efficient and innovative.

Can you tell me a little bit about how your company views innovation?

Whereas I used to value wealth and status in my career, I now value balance.

My journey to valuing balance was not an easy one - it was a struggle impacted by many personal and professional events.

My relationships, engagement at work, and health have all improved since I made the decision to focus on balance - intentionally making time in my days for rest, breaks, and inspiration. This shift took a lot of self-discipline, but I am proud to say it has been an integral part of my leadership approach.

What’s more, my colleagues have taken notice of my new approach to balance. Feedback from my colleagues and my team has improved, some saying I am more focused and optimistic about work.
