Game Card
Silent Saturday is April 12th
Silent Saturday is a throwback to the old schoolyard days when kids would congregate after school and on weekends just to play all day, without regard to who was winning and repercussions for poor play and decision-making. Coaches are requested to communicate and reinforce this with spectators!
The objectives of Silent Saturday are:
The spirit of Silent Saturdays is to allow players to make decisions and learn the game. After all, if the child doesn’t make their own mistakes, it will hinder their development in the sport. If parents think their children are confused and don’t know what to do without sideline instruction, that’s an indication that players haven’t been allowed to make their own decisions. Players will learn the game by making their own decisions, learning from their mistakes, and continuing to play.

Rain Policy:
We do NOT cancel games due to the rain. However, Valley Wide may close our fields if they deem it is unsafe to play on. If games get canceled, Coaches will notify you. We will send out an email alert through Sports Connect/Slack and also update our social media pages
Note: If there’s thunder and lightning, play is stopped immediately and everyone should leave the field to a safe area (typically a car). Play cannot resume until 30 minutes after all thunder and lightning have stopped.

Sideline Behavior
Parents
As a parent, you play a special role in contributing to the needs and development of our children. Through your encouragement and good example, you can help assure that all the boys and girls learn good sportsmanship and self-discipline. In AYSO, young people learn to work together, to sacrifice for the good of the team, to enjoy winning and deal appropriately with defeat – all while becoming physically fit and healthy. Best of all, they have fun.
Sideline Behavior
Coaches
Coaches must remain in “the technical area” (on the sideline, within 10 yards of the halfway line). Whether or not the technical area is painted, coaches must go no further from the halfway line than the edge of the center circle.
