Homework

  • Students will have a mix of computation and word problems for homework many nights.

  • Written homework is worth 2 points. Students need to show their work in the Math book, or on paper.

  • Incomplete homework will receive partial credit. I will accept late assignments, but it is the student’s responsibility to show me that the work has been completed.

  • Homework assignments for the day should be copied from my board upon arriving to class. It is also listed on Google Classroom under a weekly topic. Look for the ✏️list for “Things to Do” each week! We also post our homework on our team website.

22 of 40

Digital Practice

  • iReady has a digital practice component. Starting next week (9/25), students will have the requirement to complete 45 minutes of iReady Path Lessons each week Monday-Sunday. (Some time in class, Flex and maybe Hawk Huddle will be given, but students may need to complete this requirement at home.) 3 points will be given each week for completing the 45 minute requirement. Students cannot do this assignment early or late.

  • The iReady digital practice is based on a diagnostic that was taken by each student, and will be individualized based on the student’s needs.

  • The diagnostic also provided me with useful information about the students and their strengths and weaknesses, which helps guide my instruction.

23 of 40

Tests and Quizzes

  • Tests will be announced a week in advance. Quizzes will be announced 3-4 days in advance. The announcements will be copied in the assignment books, and will be posted on Google Classroom, on our team website, and our assessment calendar.

  • The only way to study for math is to do math! A study guide will be provided for all tests. There are pages in the workbook to study for quizzes.
