Tallong & Year 3 Notes

This will be Year 3s first time at Tallong and for some, it may be there first camp experience or their first time away from home.

Tallong

  • Tallong is on Wodi Wodi country
  • Santa Sabina College has owned Tallong for about 20 years.
  • It’s a beautiful place tucked away in the bush.

Cabins and accommodation

- Bunk Bed accommodation with private showers and toilets.

- Teachers room shares a wall with student cabin and are right next door!

- Boys and girls cabins are separate.

CAMP DAY

MORNING DEPARTURE 9 November 2023 

Students are to arrive at school at 7:30am. The buses will depart school at 8:00am am SHARP. Upon arrival at school, your child will meet their class teacher in their classroom. Please ensure that all luggage remains with your child.

AFTERNOON ARRIVAL 10 November 2023

The bus will depart Tallong at approximately 12:30 and is expected to return to school at approximately 2:30pm.

DEVICES/ EMERGENCY CONTACT

Personal electronic devices such as mobile phones, iPads or tablets, electronic games, iPods/mp3 players, SMART watches etc. need to be left at home.

Students are not permitted to ring home whilst at Tallong. In the event of an emergency, please contact Del Monte reception during office hours and after hours the contact number for Tallong Campus is 4841 0439 or 4841 0001. 

If you have any concerns or questions, please raise them with your child's class teacher as soon as possible. If your child is not used to staying away from home I would also encourage you to allow your child to spend a night or two with family or friends to help them prepare for this experience.

How to pack!!

Bring - School Bag (labelled) & Day bag

Sleeping Bag, clipped to the outside of your school bag.

Everything else goes in the school bag!

We’re away for 1 nights, so no need to over pack.

Medication

If students require medication, please ensure that is packed in a Zip-lock or Webster Pack clearly labelled with name, dosage and time.

Please hand-in any medication to class teachers and they will manage administration of medication throughout the camp.

All dietaries are catered for.

Please don’t pack any other food.

All dietary requirements will be catered for! We look after dietary requirements every week and have a great menu available for all requirements. E.g. GF and or Lactose Free Pancakes, Egg-free Brownies, Gluten-free muffins, etc. The alternatives are awesome!

What will we eat?! Lots!! Examples of menu

Fruit is always available.

Breakfast: Cereals, Toast, Yogurt, Juice, Water, Pancakes

Lunch: Chicken-Schnitzels, BBQ
