Open Ground Bypass Trick
As a safety feature, most EV Chargers will not charge if the AC Ground is open (ie. not properly connected).
Many chargers including the JuiceBox Next Gen will bypass this ‘Open Ground Fault’. Just plug the J1772 handle into the EV and then power up the JuiceBox.

Yellow (Power up) | Purple (Off line) | Blue Pulse (WiFi setup) |
Green Pulse (Charging) | White (Idle/Done) | Red Pulse (Error) |

This Presentation will Demonstrate the LED and Beep Codes for the Following:
1. Start up with an Open Ground Fault, Will not Charge
2. Bypass Open Ground Fault, Enable Charging
3. JuiceBox Normal Start Up
4. Normal EV Charging Cycle
5. GFI Fault Detected When Charging an EV

Start up with an Open Ground Fault (EV J1772 not connected)
This is a common EV Charging problem. It is a safety feature that prevents JuiceBox charging if the AC plug is not properly grounded.

Bypass Open Ground Fault, Enable Charging
(Plug in EV J1772 before power up)
CAUTION: This is bypassing the safety feature that prevent charging if the AC plug is not properly grounded. * Note: when you unplug the EV after charging, the Juicebox wil show a hard Ground Fault (Red pulse and long beep 1x). Power down the JuiceBox to clear the Ground Fault.

JuiceBox Normal Start Up
(EV J1772 not plugged in)
This is the normal startup for a wall mounted JuiceBox. The JuiceBox is always on and ready to charge (Idle). *Charging starts early if EV J1772 is plugged in before the JuiceBox. **Green Pulse if charging.

Normal EV Charging Cycle
This assumes that the JuiceBox is plugged in and Idle. Then the J1772 is plugged into the EV to start charging.

GFI Fault Detected When Connecting EV
The GFI Fault is a safety feature that prevents charging when the JuiceBox detects current leakage to ground within the EV (or J1772 handle). Charging will start but then the GFI Fault is detected. *The JuiceBox will retry every 20 sec and resume charging if the GFI fault clears. (A Green Pulse for each retry)
