Do Not Block Access to Electrical Panels
1 Minute 4 Safety
1/23/25
Obstructed access to electrical panels and switches can prevent personnel from shutting down the source of power in the event of an accident or emergency.
OSHA regulations and the National Electrical Code requires a clearance of at least 36 inches (3 feet) in front of electrical panels and electrical switches. The designated area is identified by striped tape on the floor in front of the electrical panel or switch. This designated space cannot be blocked or used for any type of storage at any time.
