What did we build?

Stacker News Territories

Territories Launch

• In early December, we launched Territories
• In less than one month stackers spent 16.8M sats on Territories
• There are now 74 Territories, 5 of them are owned by Stacker News
• 6 of the top 21 posts from the last month were from new Territories

Additional Territories Releases

• We introduced Territory moderation for owners looking for more control
• We enabled opt-out curation for stackers to leave Territories they don’t like

Nostr & Image Enhancements

Image Uploading

• In November we released image uploading functionality
• Since then, images have been added to over 5,000+ posts and comments

Nostr Cross-Posting

• In October we released Nostr cross-posting functionality
• Posts on SN can now be retroactively cross-posted to Nostr
• Requires a NIP-07 extension for signing
• Currently available for long-form content (Kind 30023)

Curation, Search, & PWA Enhancements

Curation Enhancements

• In October we released gently personalized feeds
• In December we improved downzap UX

Search Enhancements

• We enabled custom date ranges across SN and improved search accuracy

PWA Enhancements

• We made fixes to PWA notifications on iOS

External Wallet Connections

• External wallet connections enable SN to operate at scale with minimal regulatory risk
• Regulations are unclear, evolving, and are not standardized across the world
• We are working to integrate new external wallet connections in Q1
• There are many trade-offs and UX challenges to consider

New Growth Initiatives

• Educational content for improving usage of product features
• Experimenting with new content series across SN Territories

• Stacker News has paid 15 open source contributors
• 17 million sats earned by contributors to date
• New contributors can explore and take on open issues on GitHub
