3 of 151

Methodology

  • In November 2025, Indivisible Hawaiʻi Statewide Network ran a survey of Hawaiʻi voters.
  • 570 people responded.
    • Of these, 233 were Ed Case constituents (CD1), 297 Jill Tokuda Constituents (CD2), and 31 unsure.
  • Our objective was to hear Hawaiʻi voters in their own words, with minimal prompting.
  • This was an opt-in online survey. No attempt was made to create a statistically representative sample.
  • We were flattered that within three weeks of our launching this survey, both our Members of Congress issued similar ones of their own.

  • Stop being an APAC purchased coward and block every single thing the GOP is doing. We dont wat bipartisanship with Nazi fascists, we want absolute resistance. Stop being bribed, start protecting drmocracy.
  • You're getting voted out because you're a Republican dressed as a Democrat. It's getting to the point that it's not about the party, but you sure don't represent what Hawaii believes and is about. Jill Tokuda is doing a way better job - she listens and does what's right. I see you voting for things that don't represent what Hawaii stands for and it can't go on - you are on the wrong side of history, and you should be ashamed for your disgusting behavior. I'm ashamed I voted for you again.
  • Stand up to fascists by not giving them anything they want. Recognize fascists as the evil monsters they are so fight back hard against them. Do not refer to trump as president trump,.refer to him as convicted felon trump..Give him the respect he deserves by accurately referring to him as convicted felon trump. Do not refer to convicted felon trump's regime as an administration.as if he's a normal republican as opposed to the evil monster fascist wannabe dictator he is. Refer to convicted felon trump's regime as a regime.since that is more accurate. Do not normalize or accept convicted felon trump's regime; call out the many atrocities it commits on a daily basis.
  • His responses to emails are subject-changing bullshit. He is a Democrat In Name Only. He is not a leader. He does not vote for what benefits We, The People. The people want progressive Social Democrat policies, not capitalistic fascism.

  • Stop being a Dino and start to represent the people who elected you. We have had enough of your turncoat, cowardly behavior in crossing the aisle way too many times.
  • You are a terrible representative and I will never vote for you again
  • Why is it that you always vote against the interests of the people? You choose to misrepresent your constituents and you are not someone who should be in the position you are in. Also, if you're going to continually vote like a Republican, just run as one. As least it would be more fitting.
  • He is working for US not for himself or for other congress members/politicians! He is a lame duck without a spine - he needs to resign! He needs to FIGHT for democracy not bend the knee before King Trump. I'd elaborate on all this in 30 mins
  • I would tell him to get a grip, to start standing up for democracy and against policies of the white house fascist. Basically what I said to his chief of staff
  • You caved to Republicans' corrupt demands in the past and hopefully heard us when we pushed back hard on that. I wish you were a representative I could trust to lead the fight for a better society for all of us, without fail.

  • Stop moving toward the center! The right-wingers have slow-walked us into fascism and your party has followed them at half the pace. What was once the middle class is now the underclass. Most of us support fully socialized healthcare of the same quality you enjoy. We need the minimum wage to triple so people can survive and maybe have a little dignity. We need strong gun control so schools aren't murder prisons. Women need you to make pregnancy safe again (by reinstating Roe v. Wade), or many of them simply won't risk having children. We need a full-on Green New Deal including defunding all highway expansions and refocusing on public transit, or we're cooked. Bring back the 95% top tax bracket for both individuals and corporations. Tax wealth itself! Tighten insider trading laws, especially for congress. Write a Supreme Court code of ethics and hold them to it. Jail without bail all who have violated the constitution and human rights in the current administration and prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law. Build truly affordable multifamily mixed-income housing (Truman was as pissed at the woefully inadequate Housing Bill as most of us were at the ACA).
  • Stop trying to play it safe and win points with the Republicans. Your constituents want to hear you speak with clarity and strength about the crisis we are in because of the daily assault on facts, decency and long established norms. We have seen too little forceful pushback from you to the criminal and unconstitutional behavior of Trump and the sycophantic Cabinet and GOP. Why have we not heard you take a strong public stand on defending democracy, the rule of law and the rights of the most vulnerable? We expect and deserve more principled representation.
  • You time in office is over. You have not worked with and for your constituants. Your voting record is telling and shameful.

Ed Case Constituents (5/29)

  • Leave so we can put a more progressive agenda to the US Congress.
  • It's time for a democratic revolution. Yes to affordable housing and rent caps, climate change and investing in renewable energy, education and healthcare as human rights, trans rights. No to military spending, corporate greed, rapists, boomer congressmen that haven't voted in the interests of their constituents.
  • What are you doing in person to fight this fascist takeover of our country... why did the Democrats cave and give in/bend the knee to the Republicans again for the government shutdown with all the momentum we had from last week's election successes? Why aren't you having big town halls in person here in Hawaii? Why aren't you paying attention to we the people? Why do you keep siding with the Republicans on most things? Why don't you see what people think of you and respond and tell us what you are doing to help push back against this fascist takeover of our Country... this is very very scary and dangerous for the entire world.... why aren't you posting on social media about your new ideas about the future of our country after we get rid of these fascist evil corrupt people who are running our country to the ground? Why aren't you at the protests and the marches? The the heck are you doing to fight back!!!! We are not voting for you again.. Why aren't you talking about the abuse of immigrants and citizens by ICE and the border patrol and Steven Miller and stopping them from destroying our country? What the hell are you doing to fight back???? Why aren't you showing up in person here in Hawaii with us in the streets????? Publicly stand up for the rule of law.

  • You are not in alignment with my values or preferences. You continue to work as if everything in the country is normal. You are not meeting the moment, and while you are welcome in the Democratic Party, I will be working to help elect someone who can meet the moment and is not living in a fantasy world of bipartisanship and imagined integrity.
  • He's not worth having a conversation with.
  • Retire.
  • Retire.
  • Be bold. Or retire.
  • Truly represent your constituents rather than your donors and connections, or resign
  • Start standing up for Hawaii and stop acting like it's business as usual! Why don't you have more town halls instead of going around the community and take pictures! Stand up to the clown in the WH!!!!!
  • I wouldn't want to say anything to him because he doesn't represent my values and I believe he is fundamentally terrible for Hawai'i
  • I never voted for you. Do not back down on Health Care. Do not let Trump act illegally. Support the Hawaiians. Support climate change. RELEASE THE UNREDACTED EPSTEIN FILES NOW FOR THE SAKE AND JUSTICE OF THE VICTIMS! Keep holding the line against the MAGA regime and do not vote in favor of anything they want. I should be hearing his voice in the media directly challenging the Trump administration, and actively working to protect Hawaii from the greatest damage the regime can inflict.

  • Stop being some such a Centrist in voting along with the Republicans. Maybe you should step down and just become a Republican representative instead? Check in with your constituents more and find out how they want you to vote instead of deciding for yourself.
  • Stop pretending to represent democratic values
  • Stop being a Republican in disguise
  • Stop acting like a Republican.
  • stop being a REPBLICAN
  • Stop being a DINO
  • Stop voting against the interests of the Democratic Party.
  • We don't need more wolves in sheep's clothing. Stand up for Native Hawaiians, immigrants and other vulnerable populations, and against corruption and grifting.

18 of 151

Ed Case Constituents (8/29)

  • Stop colluding with the Maga GOP and start working for the people you represent. We are in a fight to protect our democracy from a dictator. This is no longer party politics. It's a fight for our lives. Your vote for the SAVE act undermined our voting rights. Your votes (three times) for HR9495 put all our essential public service groups and NGOs in danger of being attacked and dismantled. You hand out food at the food bank but while Biden was trying to pass his Build Back Better bill you withheld your support until multiple critical provisions essential to Hawaii's families were removed. You keep voting to give MORE power to the President and his now co-opted agency loyalists. I want to see you fighting to uphold our constitution and our freedoms and rights granted therein. fighting to uphold the rule of law and power of Congress. We are the bluest state in the country. Stop staying you need to vote on behalf of Republicans too. You know what people in Hawaii want? Affordable housing and health care. Action on climate and green energy. Safety for our immigrant friends and neighbors. Restoration of support for our scientific community doing critical medical and environmental research and monitoring. And for the military to abide our laws. Navy needs to finish cleaning up Red Hill and take responsibility for the harm caused. We don't want our lands and communities abused anymore as a playground for war games. NO further military operations or expansion should occur here without the express permission of our people. Stop taking money from corporations and working for the 1%. You work for us. Compromise on Health Care costs to open the government. But be SURE Trump can't change the deal, and it's a fair compromise
  • Man up!
  • I’m not voting for you next time

19 of 151

Ed Case Constituents (9/29)

  • Do something. The do-nothing and hold-on-to-your-seat approach is costing us all in climate disasters, human rights violations, and the loss of our democracy. Take a stand.
  • I want to start hearing your voice in Washington pushing back against the fascist takeover of the US. Silence is complacency!
  • Are you a Democrat? For real????
  • Are you a Closet Republican or a Democrat?
  • Why do you vote like a republican?
  • Hawaii does not need a Blue Dog. Hawaii needs an out front progressive, because the seat is safe. It is time for you to retire and let someone with more progressive views serve.
  • Your office was great when I needed help with VA benefits for my dad and a passport issue. But I've been disappointed in how you have voted on many issues since Trump took office. You don't seem to understand that there is no reaching across the table to your GOP colleagues. Stick with the team. Or lose your seat to someone who actually gets it.
  • Why are you not standing up for the LGBTQ community? Why aren't you doing more and standing up for Hawaii people against Donald Trump? You have one way telephone Townhall. You're not listening you're just talking at us, hoping that you can keep your seat. you're skating middle of the road and the fact that you voted for the SAVE act chose that you don't care about black and brown voters or women for that matter.
  • I don't think you're doing enough to stand up to this administration. You've made some questionable votes that are not in Hawaii's best interests, and I question your integrity.

Ed Case Constituents (10/29)

  • As a leader and representative of the people of Hawai‘i, your job is to protect us from any federal policies that are harmful to us, and not to go along to get along. There are times when adopting a passive approach or compromising attitude may be appropriate, but when there are near-daily examples of illegality and cruelty, being timid or moderate is not what we need and expect from our elected officials.
  • I'm tired of unethical behavior from the people who hold office. If you're going to say something then do what you said you're going to do! Don't find a way to later make someone else in government tell us all about how you can't do what you say you're going to do because of someone else citing a rule that prevents you from keeping your word. Stand for Hawaii and ALL ITS PEOPLE REGARDLESS OF THEIR ETHNIC BACKGROUND! All the people of Hawaii are people who matter. No color, racial background (minorities or not!), and /or social status should give them more access to government officials or services. I would like to be able to talk to you too and tell you about what's happening in my neighborhood where people who are hopeless and ruining the neighborhood for those of us who care about our neighborhoods are making their lives matter more than those of us who fight daily to make ends meet. Why do law breakers have more power to get your attention than those of us who live within the laws of our state and our communities? Every person matters. Be the person who protects those of us who are fighting & live within the law. We're all human and no matter if we're crippled we are still relying on you to see us and care about us too. Most importantly, if you need my help you can just ask for it and I'll support you just as you support me. You can feel confident that even though I'm crippled I'm still a person who cares for my fellow humans and I'm doing that daily.

  • Your refusal to support healthcare for all has led us to where we are. So, those in Congress that are promoting privatization of Medicare seem to be winning. Sad day for Americans!
  • That Ed Case needs to back democracy. We voted for him as a democrat but he seems to have switched sides- not okay
  • The Save Act would create significant hurdles women, senior citizens and those in rural communities. It would disenfranchise millions. Why did you vote for it?
  • Most importantly: are you a social democrat or a corporate democrat? Because it's obvious to us that the party itself is corporate and that's why its poll numbers are in the toilet. Mamdani showed that where social democrats exist, they win big. He made affordability central. He posted a detailed and clear platform. That platform identifies places where the open market has failedâ€and plugs the gaps. Mamdani didn't have rich donors. Yet no matter how much power corporations mustered against him, they lost. And Mamdani is closer to Nixon than FDR. FDR gave us decades of growth and prosperity. We need a party left of that if we are ever going to pull this country out of its current grotesque power-dive.
  • Also, please communicate clearly what is being done so that there is accountability and transparency.
  • Do more to fight right-wing corruption. Double the House, enable RCV, and prohibit gerrymandering.

22 of 151

Ed Case Constituents (12/29)

  • Fight for our democracy. Hold the Republicans accountable. Het rid of the crooked appointees and impeach Trump. He's unfit and so are his appointees.
  • I was angry when you voted with the GOP on voter ID law which would disenfranchise women & immigrants. You need to stand firm with the Democrats & stand up to Republicans trying to erode our democracy. The era of bipartisan cooperation is over, we must do everything to fight this immoral Trump regime which is eroding immigrant rights, due process, climate/18nvironmental progress, women's rights, and taking from the poor to give to billionaires! There may not even be fair midterm elections in this era of corruption & trying to steal the vote & stop mail-in ballots. You need to fight against Republicans, not work with them against the interest of Democratic values. You need to speak out against what the corrupt Trump administration is doing, trying to pay themselves millions with taxpayer money, open corruption, & targeting political enemies. This is not normal govt. This is fascism incrementally taking away our democratic norms, whitewashing history, & taking away the rights & dignity of immigrants, women, the poor/marginalized who depend on govt medical insurance/aid, and children who depend on SNAP. You need to speak out against the cruelty of this administration, the cruelty of ICE agents tearing apart families, & come up with plan to fix the immigration system entirely, help the middle class increase wages, and protect our fragile environment.
  • I do not agree with some of your votes. I think it's time for you to step down and a more progressive Democrat replace you. There appears to be no middle ground in politics and we need someone to balance the conservative vote.

23 of 151

Ed Case Constituents (13/29)

  • Stand up for your constituents, do the right thing, stand up for and defend the constitution. Call out what is wrong.
  • I would like to understand why your voting record so often aligns with Republican priorities, especially on issues that deeply impact Hawai‘i's future. As someone who has served this country and cares deeply about our communities, I want to know: What is your plan to meaningfully address climate change in the Pacific, protect LGBTQIA+ rights at a time when they're under attack nationwide, and ensure that your representation reflects the values and needs of the people of Hawai‘i rather than corporate or partisan interests?
  • I would ask him to represent the working people who actually elected (voted for) him. He has said that his role is to be a conciliator between Dems and Republicansâ€NO! The middle way does not work when the GOP does not negotiate in good faith. It is time to stand firm on the things most important to the kama'aina. Climate change will devastate our islands. We MUST address it. We are 2500 miles from any help when a tsunami or hurricane hits, if food runs scarce, our aquifer is contaminated or pandemic spreads. It is our kuleana to care for the ‘aina, the wai and kai and the all the people of Hawai'i. Fight for us.
  • You need to focus less on making friends with your republican colleagues and focus more on protecting immigrants and protecting our democracy. Your votes on immigrants reinforce the stereotype of immigrants as criminals who must be dealt with harshly rather than as human beings who deserve all the same protections as citizens. Regarding the current fight over ACA subsidies, I want you to stand firm with Democrats until Republicans agree to reinstate the subsidies. This is a fight we are winning. Do not cave.

24 of 151

Ed Case Constituents (14/29)

  • Please stop siding with Republicans and instead please remain united with the Democrats especially when we are on the minority end. It is because Democrats are seen as easy to cave in, and just want to make nice-nice, that give power to Republicans to just rule as they please, further destroying our nation and the people who idiotically voted for them! If you are truly democratic, please work to convince Republicans to support the Democrats so that power can be returned to the people of the country!
  • We cannot allow the continuation of this unlawful administration to continue to stick their finger in respect for law and our constitution. Please not the huge inequities in our country. Focus needs to be on honest solutions to real problems. This is not made up threats of our immigrants, legal or otherwise.
  • Don't give the Trumpublicans cover by supporting their show votes.
  • Stand firm to uphold the Constitution and the rule of law. Hold ICE accountable: no masks, no weapons, due process for those disappeared. Oppose this authoritarian regime with all your votes and powers.
  • Fight for our democracy; hold the current fascist regime responsible for its inhumane actions; have a spine, don't fold for special interests and millioners and corporations
  • Stop giving away our democracy. I don't like the way you vote many times. I don't think you represent us fairly and you side with the other party many times. I need you to stand up for Hawaiian citizens not corporations

25 of 151

Ed Case Constituents (15/29)

  • you need to stop taking big money because where you are getting it from , they don't care about the common person struggling to survive I want to you put doe Schumer and Jeffries to not bend the knee
  • Stop caving in to corporate interests and support the residents NOT the military!
  • YOU'RE TO CONSERVATIVE, BE INNOVATIVE, NEW TIMES, FIGHT!
  • I would like to ask him why he sides with Republicans on some issues, especially for the voter ID act.
  • You have not made any statements against ICE and how they are kidnapping people and I have not seen you in the detention center here in Honolulu making sure people have rights and are being treated properly. ICE is racial profiling and it needs to stop. We are living in a horrible time and he needs to realize it and stand up for the people he represents
  • I have already expressed that I find him too conservative. I generally think he is thoughtful and knowledgeable, but I question some of his decisions. I think he prioritizes outmoded niceties that no longer apply in these crazy times.
  • I'm disappointed with him recently. Especially when he voted to censure representative Al Green. I don't believe he stands up for democratic values consistently and seems to play both sides some times. I would ask him to explain his rational for his votes and behavior. I feel like he is often times trying to please people rather that standing up for what he believes in.
  • Not going to put that in writing!

26 of 151

Ed Case Constituents (16/29)

  • Ed, you can not negotiate or work with a regime that isn't following the constitution.
  • I tried to ask you about an issue you had expressed a personal interest in, but you never responded at all. It was a life-or-death issue for me (fortunately I managed without your help).
  • Why do you skirt many constituent questions and voted against many democratic based bills to help the marginalized?
  • Fight for democracy, for the people who elected you with integrity and support for all individuals whatever their political party, orientation, income status, etc. We all deserve to be heard and supported and its your job to do the right thing and not be swayed by money and power.
  • You need to fight for our democracy. Do not give in to the republican Trumpism. We are fighting for our country right now, and we cannot afford to be weak or let the oligarchy take over. They want to ruin our country; they don't care about anyone but themselves, so stand strong. Fight for the working class, fight for voter rights, fight and take a stand for democracy.
  • Stand up for democracy,do not waver and be afraid.truth over power.keep Hawaii as independent of the federal government as possible.plan for the future.do not let corporations and billionaires rule you.
  • Fight what is right, protect the people, and listen what the constituents concerns

27 of 151

Ed Case Constituents (17/29)

  • You are elected to serve the people, not corporations, not other politicians. We need someone who will listen to our concerns, act with integrity, and stand up to fascists to fight for democracy. We also need someone who will fight to preserve the beauty and culture of Hawai'i
  • Resist
  • Join the fight against Trump.
  • Impeached Trump ASAP
  • Get rid of Trump
  • Stop this current administration.
  • Don't cave to Trump
  • Stand up to Trump and protect our democracy. Fight back against corruption and illegal actions against immigrants and US citizens.
  • I wish he were more liberal, since we need liberal Democratic representation in the House this strongly Republican term.

28 of 151

Ed Case Constituents (18/29)

  • Please prioritize supporting and voting to implement health and support programs for working individuals and families, homeless persons, and children and adults with disabilities. Please minimize your support of rich corporations and individuals. Please work to reestablish a fair income tax system. Tax capital gains at the same rate as wages. Support efforts to require the state to outlaw corporations from making political contributions in the State of Hawai'i's corporate law.
  • Not enough is being done to help those with the least amount of resources. We are not focusing on feeding children. We are not providing good education in the poorest areas. The homeless are out of control but they are also people who need help. And indigenous people need to be taken better care of. The amount of transplants and white rich people touting themselves at kama'aina while native Hawaiians are sequestered with less opportunities and care is crazy. And I say this as a white person who was lucky enough to be born here. A successful society is a village. Everyone cares for each other or at minimum treats each other as humans. We dehumanize so many and that's the first thing we need to change. I say this not caring if you're republican or democrat, it all has been failing and needs to change.

29 of 151

Ed Case Constituents (19/29)

  • The issue of affordability for the working class is not going away - people are struggling, unable to enjoy their lives and their families, incurring stress that leads to health problems and a lowered life expectancy, while watching the wealthy class flaunt their affluence (ball rooms, bathroom renovations, tax evasion, crypto scams) and we are all sick of it. We are also watching the pillaging of our very own planet at such a rate that scientists say is bordering on irreparable. Most citizens have simple (and deliverable!) desires: good wages, affordable housing, food stability, health care, and a healthy environment to enjoy. It feels like the government no longer works for us. Healthcare for illegal aliens is the soundbyte as the why the government is shut down but the the solution is simple: health care for ALL! A rising tide lifts all boats. We need people to fight for the most vulnerable and for the working class. 37 billionaires own 5% of HI land (Forbes reporting). This is a disgrace. Tax them at higher levels and give free lunch to every keiki in school. Childcare, access to fresh local produce, all of these initiatives are possible by taxing those who hoard resources.
  • Number one is protecting our democracy. Number two is promoting progressive policies that help regular people, not corporations and oligarchs.
  • Working class solidarity and caring for our vulnerable populations needs to be the highest priority and it needs to come at the expense of the ultra wealthy who hoard money, power and resources.
  • Stand your groud for the folks of Hawaii, health, housing, integrity for cops.and judges . Stop.thw revolving door of catch and release

30 of 151

Ed Case Constituents (20/29)

  • Stand up for the US Constitution, Democracy and Rule of Law
  • Stop supporting the GOP agenda and fight for democracy and working families
  • If you can find republicans to work with, do so. If not do not vote with the extreme MAGA branch just to show aloha. Too much at stake.
  • Standing for Democracy & the Rule of Law - being more progressive. Shining more light on the Hawaii's progressive initiatives & care for our most vulnerable.
  • I want you to fight harder against the Trump Regime
  • How are you fighting for democracy at this crucial time? What are you doing to make a difference? Where is your fight?
  • Ed Case, please stand up for working families and marginalized people, and resist Trump/MAGA and oligarch efforts.
  • I believe you are too eager to find middle path accommodation with the GOP. I want a solid Democrat on our team.
  • Addressing political corruption, inflation, universal healthcare to all. Helping immigrants who are just seeking a better life!

31 of 151

Ed Case Constituents (21/29)

  • The rule of law is the foundation of democracy. No one is above the law or below it. Please be cognizant that the blatant corruption of the Trump administration and the enabling of such by the GOP needs to be called out in no uncertain terms. The demonizing of people color, immigrants, LGTBQA+, non-christian's and women must be fought. Hawai'i is a state of great diversity. It serves as reminder of what vibrant and joyful community life we have when differences are celebrated. We need you, our representatives to fight for voting rights and equal treatment.
  • Stop voting with Republicans
  • Please hold frim on whatever it takes (e.g. gov shut-down) to protect healthcare ,and all attempts to re-balance income disparity in US
  • Need to fight back more and recognize that too many Republicans simply don't follow thru on commitments and will at end now to Trump. Congress can and should do more. Protect the vulnerable more. All people are valued from immigrants to LGBT Q, people of color, etc. Require enforcement of law be fair, transparent, equitable, without fear or favor.
  • Stop current administrations over reach, protect Hawaii State from GOP corruption power grab, hold politicians and corporations accountable and extend the ACA credits with goal to make permanent, fight back to keep Medicaid/SNAP/18ducation Programs funded and alive.
  • For now be an anti-fascist in every decision. In governing for the future be a democratic socialist.

32 of 151

Ed Case Constituents (22/29)

  • Stand up for democracy. Fight Trump. Be actively involved in whatever is possible to stop MAGA.
  • Listen to your constituents and vote to support our needs
  • I would share my dismay at his failure to support voting rights in the SAVE Act, and ask him to cosponsor HRes 317 on the subject of working toward reduction in nuclear weapons
  • Don't be a sheep
  • Again, STOP giving in - Ê»working with Republicans currently is not feasible unless you continue to do what they want instead of what is needed for the people.
  • thank you for your service. please do the25th amendment on trump.
  • Be more progressive!
  • Need to hold Trump administration more accountable for unconstitutional actions. Continue your steady communications and Town Halls.
  • Bipartisan is good but never at the cost of fundamental principles such as voting integrity.
  • What is he doing to force the House to talk about the Federal Shutdown, SNAP & ACA.
  • Throughout the years, you have not seemed concerned, regarding Immigrants.
  • Why did you vote to censure Al Greene?

33 of 151

Ed Case Constituents (23/29)

  • I'd want to discuss transit, affordable housing, and universal healthcare. These things are done excellently in other parts of the world and they would benefit Americans significantly. Billionaires can afford to pay higher taxes.
  • Please read and adhere to to the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Then, make income taxes equitable; look back at the tax rate before Regan tried the trickle down effect' - which is a disaster. Increase income taxes on the super wealth, increase estate taxes- on anything over 20 million, cut out tax loopholes, support labor unions, break up big corporations, stop the concentration of the media. Protect our environment- support renewables. Hold onto our National Parks and public lands. Have term limits for the Supreme Court and Congress. Fight for medicare for all and support public schools, do not privities the US mail or the jails. I might run out of time.

  • Hold the line against Trump and republicans
  • Stay the course of Hakim Jefferies. Question the media why they don't ask hard questions in the white house when they have the chance.
  • Do what you can to stop Trump's corruption and reform our campaign funding laws including review possible changes to the United ruling on corporation campaign donatios/superpacs.

  • I would talk about the current assault on Federal employees ~ RIFs, hiring freeze, and frozen personal actions
  • I realize that you are a blue dog democrat which makes me wonder why you don't work for the people to work out a way to have good medical care for everyone. Are you looking at what the insurance companies are doing? How much does a person have to make in order for them to have good medical insurance without subsidies or Medicaid? Can all Americans have a job that makes it so they can afford medical insurance?
  • We didn't realize we had so many great policies and programs until the Trump administration started destroying them all. Do what you can to protect both rule of law and the most vulnerable.
  • Ask a lot of questions about how they are going to defeat Citizens United and stop corporations and billionaires from amassing wealth and not paying as much taxes as the middle class.
  • Everything we do must be legal. Stand up to the bullying tactics in Washington
  • Stand up for the Constitution.
  • Support the people- not corporations/billionaires
  • Route out corruption everywhere you see it

  • Compromise is nice but not when it compromises people. Be strong in fighting for democracy and opposing MAGA
  • Cosponsor HRes317 toward reduction in nuclear weapons; my dismay that Case voted wrong on SAVE Act
  • Obviously no
  • KÅ« i ka pono!
  • You should work to pass legislation with your colleagues and the other party but do not compromise the values of a progressive democracy which should protectthe weakest among us, provide good education and health care across the board for all, and strengthen our economy in diverse and new ways locally, regionally, and nationally.
  • Don't forget the people who got you to where you are now. Don't get mired in the political BS. People need simple things like safe housing, clean water, affordable safe food!
  • Topics are standing firm against federal policies that lead to human rights violations, general affordability, state job opportunities that are bogged down by bureaucracy, traffic patterns that are leading to unsafe conditions, promoting a quality of life where people don't have to leave Hawai'i. Fairness in tax policy and wealth gaps.
  • Steps need to be taken to protect our citizens against rising housing and food costs. Also, please communicate clearly what is being done so that there is accountability and transparency.

  • Thank you for your work. Please fight for access to affordable healthcare and to universal education. Level the playing field for all people.
  • I respect your desire to work with others and value the need to seek bipartisan agreements. However, we are in a time when this is not always possible and is too often resulting in harm to people. Please remember your oath to the Constitution. Please work hard to protect all people in our country, to protect the vulnerable, to resist the seductive call of power and personal profit, to be a representative of whom we can all be proud.
  • I don't know
  • Please care about our 'Ä ina, without healthy land (and sea), we won't thrive. Push for laws holding manufacturers accountable for plastic pollution, adopt strict codes for plastic coming into Hawai'i. Our beaches and our food are being compromised. Create programs that encourage keiki to learn about farming as career possibilities and give farmers all the support you can. We must become more self-sufficient, less dependent on shipping and importing. Stand up for democracy and compromise only when it is the only way, but please do not sell out those who cannot speak for themselves...we need you to stay strong!! Mahalo Nui Loa for all you do!!!
  • Why are you still in office? You are a. democrat not a Trumpocrat . Your voting record is not consistent with the policies of the Democratic Party
  • Stick to your principles. Remember that you work for us. You should not act just to get re-elected. Be fair and, most of all, honest!

  • We need to address climate concerns much more seriously.
  • Climate change is an existential crisis that we must act upon decisively and also show world leadership.
  • Ask him about the funding he receives from defence contractor PACs and why he thinks that is appropriate and could be seen as swaying his stance and legislative action with the military in Hawaii
  • Uphold the rule of law and democratic norms. Push back hard against the Trump regime and the move to authoritarianism.
  • For the people, and of the people; prioritize this, listen to the people, represent us, provide us with what we need to prosper.
  • Continue to work hard; we need you to have our backs.
  • Congress not a place to get rich! Serve with integrity. Help depolarize congress and nation by seeking middle ground -making health and well being of all Americans primary focus of bipartisan domestic policy. Defend Ukraine. Work on another bipartisan immigration reform bill.
  • Thank you for being responsive to my requests. Don't fall for Republicans' promises because they almost never keep them. We need stronger leadership and less compromises because Democrats always lose to Republicans who have no ethics or morals - they just care about money and power.

  • Quit accommodating the Republicans. Stand up for the working people of Hawaii and protect our health care and support systems
  • Be a team player and support Democratic Party priorities
  • I appreciate what you're doing. Please continue to stand up for what is right and thank you for keeping us informed about what you're doing and why. Stand up to climate change and democracy infringement. These are critical times & issues
  • I appreciate the hard work and long hours you spend representing us here in Hawaii. Also I appreciate that you have always responded to my letters. Keep up the good work!
  • Thank him. Talk about trying to protect HI from the terrible trump administration. Help me with my concerns with VA.
  • Finally, understand that we all thrive togetherâ€or else we get played against each other to the destruction of all. This is not about moving toward the center. It's about standing up for universal values in the face of opposition. In its slow-walk to fascism, the US has forgotten the most basic principle of governance: the strong shall be prevented from oppressing the weak. This was enshrined 3,775 years ago in the Code of Hammurabi, and is the cornerstone of all civilized societies since.

  • Arrest, remove and hold to account Trump and his enablers for capital treason, corruption, and operating as domestic enemies - enemies my brothers and sisters in arms took an oath to protect the constitution and our nation against.
  • LEAD. BE LOUD. KEEP REPEATING THE IMPORTANT MESSAGES AND TAKE IT ACROSS THE COUNTRY. SPEAK FOR THE MAJORITY, NOT THE MONEYED POWERFUL MINORITY. BE BERNIE SANDERS, BE AOC.
  • Show us that you care by showing up to We the People events, town halls, rallies, etc. and have a vision and a plan of how we can move forward when the Trump regime falls... show us how you plan to help keep our democracy, how you will take down the Trump regime... call them out for all of the abuse to human beings, the corruption, how are you getting the idiot sycophants out of the whitehouse, how will you put them in jail where they all belong
  • make a pledge to actually grow some balls or a spine and take on the republicans who apparently through their actions, don't care about the common citizen
  • Fight this current corrupt administration like hell on media-interviews-public etc, listen to Hawaii citizens and speak to them in simple straight forward language with answers and solutions to their problems. No legalese speeches.

  • Honestly anyone even slightly more left than Ed Case would get my vote but in an ideal world: a socialist democrat at least or someone who runs on more socialist democrat values even if they shy away from identifying as such. Someone who runs a grassroots campaign (or at least one that eschews funding from large corporations) and isn't afraid to run on more leftist ideas (social justice, justice system reforms, police reforms would be great but even just a basic higher taxes for the wealthy and investment in public services would be the dream) that establishment democrats shy away from. A candidate who is able and willing to call what is happening in Gaza a genocide and speak out against Israel. Someone who--even if their values do not fully line up with me-- I feel isn't beholden to the interests of the wealthy and big businesses. Someone who has accurately accessed the dire state our democracy is in and is not only dedicated to preserving and restoring the values and rights currently being eroded but also understands the conditions and failures of the democratic party that paved the way for this administration and runs not only on opposing the republicans but also on the promise of something better.
  • Be visible, be loud, and be clear that we have a corrupt administration right now that he or she will oppose with everything he or she has in every way. Be willing to speak out against the constant violations of the rule of law and citizens rights and the descent into murder on the high seas. We live in a time of constant lies. Be ready to cut through the fog of lies and speak the truth.
  • Stand up to Trump and his sycophants and call them out continuously. Fight vigorously against the GOP lies and misinformation. Get on mainstream news and point out all the stuff that the administration hides, like Trump's dementia. Fight for the Release of the Epstein Files!

44 of 151

  • Call a spade a spade. Call out the trump administration every time they do something illegal. Take back the power of Congress to appropriate funds, declare war, and set tarriffs. These are not presidential powers. Ensure that people in Hawaii can afford homes, food, and healthcare.
  • I don't need good feels! I need actual action to save our country's democracy. I don't want to see the rise of an authoritarian, oligarch driven government in what's left of my lifetime. If a candidate has a vision for that and is willing to speak out and in my behalf, they have my vote.
  • I don’t need to feel good about voting. I need to believe a candidate will fight corruption, direct the power of government to protect the vulnerable not the oligarchs.
  • Stop blowing our money on roads and trains and start spending it on sidewalks and EDUCATION! It’s like you’re so close but you can’t see the forest for the trees. Please see us!!
  • Don’t just spend money messing with the roads or some ridiculous tram thing. Every person who lives and works in Hawaii already knows that we just aren’t a car pooling, ride sharing kind of a State no matter how often you force us to pretend we are.
  • Fight like hell for our rights and freedoms. Don't just give speeches and seek photo ops. Show us you are ready to roll up your sleeves and risk everything to protect our lives and our aina.

  • Support policies that help the general population stay housed, fed and healthy, and not just line the pockets of a few at the top. Don’t turn a blind eye to racism and fascism in the guise of patriotism. Don’t remain silent in the face of corruption and greed.
  • Forward democratic socialist ideals and policies, focus on holding corporations accountable and taxable, fight for IRS auto-filing, propose higher tax on billionaires, fight to protect local housing against investment purchases.
  • Focus on affordability and housing. Speak up against fascists and uphold the rule of law. Go after the billionaires and corporations that are making life harder for every day Americans and just be a real, genuine human. Also, absolutely NO AIPAC money.
  • Support a new, progressive position that solves problems rather than maintains the status quo. Fight fascism and the Trump administration.
  • Actually fight and stand up for left wing politics and be a legitimate alternative to fascism and right wing nationalism. Moderates/centralists are not a viable or strong alternative
  • Have a clear social democrat platform like Mamdani and FDR. Champion the issues that Bernie Sanders and Michael Moore have identified that most Americans fervently support. Refuse corporate money, foreign money and dark money. Don't be corrupt.
  • Have a clear and actionable agenda that could effectively forward the values of the Democratic party--not just empty platitudes or an anti-Trump/MAGA stance. Someone who could make the Democratic party be seen as favorable again--as the party that actually supports the citizenry, and not just the billionaires like the GOP.

  • Actually achieve something that has direct effect on the little people who live in the shadow of our politicians...like show up locally with food or cash!
  • Focus on justice for the people, getting rid of Citizens United, a livable wage for all Americans, preserving the Constitution, affordable healthcare for all.
  • To be able to articulate what he/she is going to do to protect democracy and stand up for the people of Hawaii. I would like to feel that the candidate is courageous and willing to take tough stands in order to fight the current corrupt political system.
  • They must state what they, in conjunction with other progressives, will do to fix this mess and what they are going to do to fix the shit that allowed it to happen.
  • Commit to fighting any authoritarian policies that take away existing rights and funds already approved by Congress, damage relationships with allies who have historically supported us, and further erode the country's standing in the world. He or she would also have to actively work to protect HawaiÊ»i from the dangerous effects of climate change, such as rising sea levels.
  • Show some internal fortitude in combating the lawless President, White-house staff, and complicit Republican members of Congress. Think outside of the old box and be on the offensive rather than defensive.
  • Be a solid bulwark against MAGA corruption and policies, standing up for our Constitution and the duty of government to put the people first.

  • Stand up against Trump insanity and look out for humanity and the future of our precious planet.
  • Stop asking me for money- tell me what your plan is. And it better sound like Elizabeth Warren's plan for taxes and Bernie's for heath care and Kamala's for enthusiasm and positivity.
  • Show genuine alignment with the values and needs of Hawai‘i: take bold, science-driven action on climate resilience, firmly defend LGBTQIA+ rights, stand up for working families instead of corporate interests, and communicate transparently with the community. A candidate who listens, leads with integrity, and prioritizes people over politics would earn my vote.
  • Speak out against Trump and speak about health care for all, free college education for all and stopping the power grab by the billionaires.
  • Speak up against the unjustices and make your own waves, show us that you represent and hear us. Be vocal.
  • Be strong, standing up to the Republicans
  • Stand up to Donald Trump and MAGA. Work to make corporations and the wealthy pay their fair share of taxes. Work to raise the minimum wage, and socialized medicine
  • I would want a real Mamdani type of person in Hawaii. It’s so easy to see that the politicians here are concerned about tourism and corporations more than they do locals.

  • Be non-MAGA, non-Christian Nationalist, NOT a business person. Want to take care of the land, endangered species of Hawaii and mostly the people of Hawaii. From the Kupuna to Keiki and everyone in between. And stop allowing so many foreigners and out-of-state investors to buy and build. Too many high rises already. I know it will never be perfect but steps on the right direction would sure help.
  • Take actual action towards a better future for us. Take real steps towards fast, reliable public transportation, affordable housing, and universal healthcare. Stop playing party-warfare games. This is not about red vs blue, it is about actually helping people.
  • Answering your question about leadership for the national level: Actively collaborating with others at the national level to fight all the evils of Trump (ICE, corruption, illegal actions, etc.) while also actively promoting a vision for a stronger U.S. that is more equitable and provides for the needs of all, and also is akamai to the rapidly-changing age we are in, of AI and biogenetics and tech companies that cross borders, as well as a legal system that has been shifted over decades in bias of the wealthy and powerful.
  • Hold Trump and the Republican Party accountable for tearing down our democracy. Stop being a mouthpiece for the party and DO SOMETHING MEANINGFUL FOR THE PEOPLE.
  • Listening to constituents by holding meetings with them. Holding the oligarchs financially accountable, making them pay taxes like the rest of us. Stop letting your campaign take dark money, making you look unethical. Prioritize Hawaiian values like climate and the ocean by stopping mining that destroys the ocean's ecosystem. Pushing climate change as a high priority.

  • Pledge to support women's equality, women still earn less then men working in similar work. Support choice. Support immigrants and legislate a path to citizenship, especially for dreamers. Support a fair tax for the super-rich and large corporations. Support measures to help low-income families for example free childcare, free school lunch, tax breaks for kupuna caregivers.
  • Campaign promises are ok but need to be supported by HOW the candidate hopes to achieve their promise. So far, our candidates do not make broad promises that are apparent lies.
  • Show me their values, skills, priorities at work in our community. I see Jill Tokuda on the front line - giving out food, speaking at rallies, being present and visible. I don't see Ed Case, or Maizie Hirono, or Brian Schatz. Are they too busy? It would help me to SEE them at work in our community - any any candidates for their positions, as well.

  • We need Gen X/Millennial/Gen Z leaders who represent the younger generations. The Boomers have held onto power for too long. The younger generations will not have the wealth their parents had & policy needs to change. Messaging needs to be refreshed & needs of the middle class addressed. Stagnant wages, high cost of living, inflation, changing job market with AI needs to be addressed. Dems must look into the future & solve real problems relating to climate change, AI taking white collar jobs, food & housing insecurity, erosion of human rights & dignity, affordablity, and the common good for all. The healthcare & immigration systems need to be overhauled completely. There needs to be universal healthcare, affordable college for all, and lower food/ housing costs. These issues make a day to day difference in peopleʻs lives. The divide between the ultra wealthy and middle class/poor is widening with each year, which is unsustainable for society. Science needs funding to make innovative breakthroughs that benefit all people & put our nation ahead.
  • We must always remember that Hawaii is its own country.we are colonizers,we broke treaties with the Queen. The United States government took over Hawaii. This is the land of the Hawaiian people.

  • I believe all of our leaders, with some exceptions with Ed Case, have been doing a great job representing Hawaii. I believe they have been speaking the truth and honoring their oaths. I am an independent voter. I have lost any and all faith in the Republican Party as they no longer stand for any principles relating to democracy, the constitution, American values, the truth, etc and have become a group of spineless politicians that will do whatever Dumbold Trump tells them to do. Republicans let Trump destroy our country, destroy democracy, destroy lives and families, destroy our reputation around the world. I will not be voting for any republican for at least the next 10 years or more.
  • Wealth inequality in this country and in Hawaii is obscene. There is enough money to grant everyone in this country a good education, living wage, health care and more if politicians would start TAXING the Super RICH. Expand the Supreme Court and move ASAP to overturn Citizens United. We have to stop this consolidation of wealth and stop letting corporations run the agencies that were supposed to protect us and our land, wildlife, waters, and public health. Looking for a leader who is not listening to lobbyists and billionaire PACs but listening to the people. We're done with business as usual. Nov 4 2025 was the wake up call. And NYC will be a lightning rod showing where to start. Get on it.

  • We need leadership that prioritise native hawaiian issues and policies that protect our environment from corporations and over tourism. If our natural resources are destroyed we can neither support our own communities or support the tourism industry we unfortunately depend on. We need strong leadership that stand up to the republicans, push back on their actions, and fight as hard as they can. If that means not playing by the rules, so be it. The republicans do not play by the rules, as has been seen time and time again. When one side plays by the rules and the other doesn't, the one playing by the rules may be more virtuous, but they get stomped, and that's much worse for the state and the country.
  • For crying out loud come out and talk to us! Every time we try to find good government leaders itʻs like we have to watch you spout something canned on some neighborhood meetings that are being televised and possibly edited for consumption. Donʻt just send me a flyer to report your activities. If you can use technology to reach me before I vote for you, why canʻt you reach me after I vote for you? Donʻt think that facebook or twitter is the everything for communication. Some of us are so sick of the control that those SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORMS.have on information that we no longer want to even go on those things.
  • We need leaders with the guts to speak out, who will not compromise on basic decency, who cannot be bought by AIPAC and who will call a genocide a genocide and galvanize his or her colleagues to stop funding it.

  • IT IS NOT A SAFETY ISSUE. Sleep interruption has an extremely negative impact on health.
  • I am absolutely opposed to ending paper ballots. Paper ballots are the ONLY genuinely auditable votes. As a former IT professional, I will tell you that machines are easily programmable to deliver whatever result a ruling party wants.
  • The corruption in the Democratic Party here makes us ripe for MAGA takeover
  • we need NEW voices that unite us all. I'm sure we all have some basic things we want that we could agree on. Or at least most of us (for example, we want a democracy, not an theocratic nationalistic fascism
  • However, the federal agents such as ice, FBI, CIA are controlled by Trump and seem to be outside the boundaries of what is lawful.
  • Integrity to uphold the highest principles of service to the greater good and protection of our most vulnerable populations (children, elderly, houseless, and those burdened by the viciousness of wage-slavery).
  • We need people of insight, and courage to speak out against the abuses of government position, power, overreach. We need people integrity to lead the rest of us in being and doing pono things to make society work for all of us. We need people willing to negotiate but not stonewall, to listen and vision and work toward that vision. We need young blood and young brains to deal with the issues and meet the needs of our entire population.

  • Ed Case has been a loser for a long time - heʻs got to go! Iʻm disappointed in a lot of what Governor Green has been saying about the current federal situation and the relationship with Hawaiʻi. Corporations have gotten away with some serious pollution issues, and wealthy individuals have run over Hawaiian rights. I donʻt know what to do about it, just that too much has been taken from the Hawaiian people.
  • I would like leadership that isnʻt just looking for PR opportunities to look good within the community but someone who is actually courageous enough to hear the hard issues and conversations and work to resolve it. We have too many people who donʻt want to upset people that they just remain unruffled and enjoy a comfortable salary pretending they never knew what the issues were. Iʻm tired of that mentality!
  • Be careful of MAGA...there's more of them here than you think! It's sad when local people take the racist, anti-immigrant, sick rhetoric to heart, but they do. A lot of it is being preached to them at church. Pay attention!
  • Where is our tax money going? And why are private trash collectors allowed to collect in the middle of the night in Waikiki?
  • Paying lip service to topical issues, enacting legislation that is not enforced, assuring personal profit at the expense of our communities are not qualities desirable in our elected officials who are supposed to serve the public.
  • I'm pro socialist, make decisions for the greater good and bigger picture and will pick logically based on that. But to win, we need someone charismatic who can make an immediate impression and get people excited to vote for them.

  • We need someone who is not afraid to say that while we respect the history of the islands and acknowledge the harm that native Hawaiians endured at the hands of white Americans, we're also now in the 21st century and reliant on a country and government that offer benefits and services essential to our survival in a global society.
  • Someone who gives a damn about keiki and kÅ«puna, LGBTQ, the climate, women, and supports those of non-mainstream religions and cultural heritages, not just those who look like him/her or make big donations.
  • People are literally swimming in polluted waters without realizing it.
  • Amsterdam-level mass transit and bike paths all across O'ahu. Life would be better for everyone. Tourists wouldn't need to rent cars. Missing middle housing rather than single family housing.
  • Strong, brave leadership for democracy not authoritarianism. I want my tax dollars to go to health care, government programs for poor, needy, veterans, people NOT billionaires.
  • We need leadership that demonstrates integrity and compassion.
  • Get involved, listen to your constituents. Stop all the political corruption! See something say something!!
  • We need improvements in the social net, lowering the cost of housing, providing for those that have not, and creating good paying jobs for the people of Hawaii.

  • There is a lack of competent administration. Hawaii seems to lack the proper technical ability to succeed without overspending, case in point modernizing it's computer systems, building a rail system, etc. Maybe it's selecting the lowest bidder that dooms us to failure.
  • Maize , Brian and Jill are working hard for us- lots to admire in them , Ed, can't trust him to do what's right for us all the time.
  • We need some new ideas to move us ahead. Housing costs continue to be crazy. For me, the value of my condo is not keeping pace with the cost of a single family home. So to upgrade would be hard if that was all I had available. Not true for me, but it is for many.
  • We need someone who realizes the homes falling into the oceans need to be immediately addressed and is willing to speak about it.
  • I am OK with the current leadership but was disappointed to see that Mazie Hirono voted against the Hemp industry recently
  • We need leadership that embodies the values, the spirit of this place. We need leadership that get things done efficiently without talking about things for extended amounts of time while nothing happens.
  • Create housing for all, and work to keep our beautiful Aina clean and healthy.
  • Work for food security for all the people. Sensitive to Native Hawaiian concerns. Affordable housing. Support local agriculture.

  • Stop capitulating to corporate greed. People and climate first everything else will fall into place if this is how one approaches all policies..
  • More progressive and working to reduce income inquality and its harm to our Democracy.
  • Leaders who are not owned by big money and lobbyist
  • Fearless pursuit of policies that help the people and the environment, not the wealthy and business elite
  • We need leaders who get in the trenches with us (like Jill Tokuda).
  • Not someone who tries to justify siding with Republicans on issues (Ed Case).
  • We need articulate, outspoken, no BS leaders (shout out to Brian Schatz and Mazie Hirono).
  • And creative, compassionate, solution-oriented leaders who can handle crises (Josh Green, doing a great job IMO).
  • We need leaders willing to stand up to entrenched power in the state as well as at the federal level.
  • We need a leader who understands democracy and freedom are at stake and that they will fight hard for democracy and freedom. We need someone who recognizes we win the fight against fascism by sticking together.

  • We need leaders that speak up for the most vulnerable and speak out against the tyrants that currently run the administration.
  • People who get specific about platform issues and how to achieve them!
  • I very much appreciate the leadership of Sen. Brian Schatz who fights for democracy, the people's rights, and the environment. Schatz has a voice in the national discussions, but he clearly supports his local constituents.
  • Leaders that address the problems we have in Hawaii & actually follow through.
  • We need to maintain the culture, we need to protect indigenous peoples and their stories.
  • We also need to do better in poorer areas. Kids are out in waialua dropping out of schools, not having people show up for them while kids at Kaiser are thriving with good teachers and supports.
  • We need to do better for our kids everywhere.
  • I rarely donate when my response to the survey will not be accepted without first donating.

  • Any support to Israel’s genocide of Palestinians is unconscionable. You’ve sold your soul.
  • I’d like her (and all Hawaii representatives) tell the GOP to f@ck off.
  • MAGA is the most dangerous fascist personality cult since the Nazi’s. This next election will decide how bad it gets.
  • Does it stop with a few million dead, stagflation followed by a global economic depression (I think those are baked in already), or do we see if they can out do the Nazi’s (who murdered only 3% of the human population).
  • Take action not just words. FIGHT LIKE HELL! Stop cow towing to MAGAts. Make them accountable. Expand SCOTUS.
  • Start by saying mahalo for standing up to the fascist regime.
  • Fight the fascist federal administration at every turn.
  • Fight the fascism of this regime, for our country and our democracy and stop the kidnappings, imprisonment and trafficking of our citizens and immigrants by ICE
  • Follow the Constitution, Honest jJudiciary, stop corrupt corporate power, Tech Mafia, surveillance AI, banksters, lying fellow politicians, open Epstein files, IMPEACH, CONVICT, REMOVE trump for the hundreds of laws he has broken.TAKE BACK DEMOCRATIC POWER FOR THE PEOPLE.

I will not in any scenario support any candidate that supports Zionism takes NRA funds or has not been action this year.
  • It is imperative we act to prevent the trump triumvirate being himself, Stephen Miller and Russell Vought who are, as a trio, destroying our nation, our laws, our constitution and our democracy for the intent of establishing a singular power (the executive branch) who designates freedom and wealth to the chosen few at the tremendous expense of the disenfranchised, poor, working poor, and middle class.

After Trump and MAGA are gone what will you do to: make sure health care for all that actually works and is affordable, fixing the immigration problem, protecting women’s rights, lowering costs, getting money out of politics, stop corruption in Congress with insider trading, undoing the FAKE news machine, stacking the Supreme Court and giving them term limits and stricter rules. • I'm my spouse's primary caregiver. They've conquered breast cancer, thyroid cancer, and almost dominated kidney cancer. They've left behind a breast, a thyroid gland, and one kidney. I have a full time job as a controller in a small community credit union and a 20+ hour per week part time position at a local grocery store chain where I assist the point of sale team and cashier. We are almost always one car repair (literally) away from not being able to pay our ACA premiums for my spouse that will increase from the $563 that we have been paying to $893 on January 1st under the standard tax credit. Having the extended credit has allowed us to let other needier families take advantage of the food banks in the community. I do not regret anything that I have had to put aside for the care and welfare of my spouse as they continue their fight. Please help us to afford healthcare so that we can win our battle and so that other folks can, too.
  • Help us continue our fight and our journey to healing.
  • Identity the most critical challenges facing our state, seek input from all stakeholders to identify solutions. Use your power, provide leadership and implement plans that address the serious issues we face.

Pass laws controlling AI before there are no jobs left, dose anybody think that big tech will help the people they put on the street.

  • Where have you been? The Supreme Court and the Congress seem to be handing power over to the executive branch without any resistance.
  • Don't give in to Repuglicans. Work on getting the wealthy to pay their share of taxes.

  • Streamline the building department process.
  • What if, instead of trying to solve all problems at once, we just focused on the one problem I think everyone or most everyone could get behind and that is money in politics and the corruption it causes.
  • So why don’t we simply create a cross party coalition focused on getting money out of politics?
  • I wasn’t impressed with you when you were first elected but I voted for you because any Democrat is better than just about any Republican nowadays. I have watched you. I have seen you grow in your office. The first year or so it was slow but you figured it out. I voted for you again, not just because you were a Democrat but because you were Jill Tokuda who I felt I could trust with my vote. And then when we, not just Hawaii but our entire country, needed you to think and work and speak up you were ready and you continue to stand with those who have read the Constitution and believe in democracy and the rule of law and all the crazy yet wonderful things that this experiment in government stands for. Imua!
  • Please be a centrist. Avoid polarization, bring reason and compromise back to politics.
  • Stand with the Democratic party on votes in congress, stay united, no personal or state agenda now. Hawaii will lose if the US is no longer a democracy. Be aware and fight against the far right that is growing in Hawaii. Make sure Gov. Make sure Hawaii benefits totally in any deals with them. Stand strong against them. Protect our sovereignty They cannot be trusted.

  • I would first have to study where she is inadequate on major issues that I prioritize.
  • I prefer a personal conversation rather than speaking at them.
  • I would ask her to fight back for We the People with everything she has.
  • I would ask her what she has done to help women, children and the elderly in her district? What is her plan to help us with the impending high cost of healthcare and health insurance?
  • Then find constructive steps forward to deal with health care, immigration, inflation, the deficit, climate change.
  • Elevate all current and future solar farm panels to apply double use of each acre as Agrivoltaic. Plant low lying fruits and vegetables. Frees up land for housing, increase local produce, preserve water vs open field farming, reduce fossil fuel used for importing produce while plants’ moisture rise to cool solar panels for maximum electrical output. All solutions to our challenges in available and pricey land, housing, water, electric power, local produce, while limiting use of fossil fuel that’s killing our environment.

  • Don't forget to come back to us, your constituents, and ask for our specific help. We talked with Gov Green on Saturday evening and he specifically said if we could travel to a purple state and knock doors, that was more powerful influence than simply staying in Kaneohe. We are talking about going to New Hampshire, joining family in that effort in October / November 2026.

  • That is fraud and any politician that continues this charade is a criminal engaged in voter fraud.
  • PROTECTING SOCIAL SECURITY!
  • I am most concerned about we will even get another election. Declare marshal law in response to any demonstration and prevent our chance to vote. He said in campaign he hoped we would never have to vote
  • again. Between that, more voter requirements and redistricting even having a next election will be a win.
  • Talk about what real world actions they will take to protect us from the fascist regime. That they will not stop listening to us after they are elected.
  • Fight trump on any issue he holds a stance on, he is incompetent, corrupt, and cruel.
  • Democrats MUST GENERATE A COHESIVE MESSAGE combating trumps attempt to disenfranchise the brown, the black, the poor and the disloyal.
  • Trump may not be the target, he is only intent on grabbing as much money as he can, S. Miller is the one eyes should be focused on.
  • Trump is simply his puppet; trump gives a damm about running the country, he is focused on manipulating the crypto market.

  • I already feel good about voting in 2026, especially after the Nov 4 elections that had such terrific results for democracy. But to answer your question - I'd love for the Democrat or Independent candidate(s) to speak up fearlessly in support of the many needs of our communities, local and national, and to hold fast against the authoritarian actions in the government by the MAGAs and Trump. Initiate and successfully follow through with actions that will help to address and/or solve the urgent issues that arise as a direct result of this administration. Be a leader, an activist
  • Two of my neighbors voted multiple times. My house keeps getting new extra ballots!!! The system is broken. Completely unsecure.
  • Abolish almost all mail in voting. I personally was witness to voter fraud.

  • Strong pro-democracy party leadership, to strengthen the balance of power between the 3 branches of our government, especially in Congress, with ethics in the justice system, protecting voting rights and preserving the rule of law, especially in the face of authoritarian cruel executive actions and loss of congressional financial leadership.

  • You're either FOR protecting pedophiles or you are AGAINST it - prove to us what you are.
  • Senators are a joke and state reps are terrible. They totally married with big donors and don't give a shit about the people.
  • Stand up, put yourself out there, be brave. Support and encourage your fellow congressmen. WE MUST ENLARGE OUR COALITION. Support any movement working to combat trump, his administration is 5 steps ahead of the average state admin and voters...Our leaders must get smarter and think definitely of the consequences of letting his maniacal, psychotic madness continue.
  • Gov Green has lost my confidence as he’s scared to join other DEM governors in taking a strong stand against DC’s violent armies coming to Hawaii and assaulting our people.
  • Prosecute REAL criminals (PEDOPHILES and those who protect them, ICE, the judges that support them, etc), protect the vulnerable (your constituents, the vulnerable, the veterans, the homeless, EVERYONE who isn't a billionaire.)
  • Someone who is willing to be a brightly, shining star in the sea of tyrannical darkness the United States is in currently.
  • free stuff. Wake up.
  • Vote out the wolves like Ed Case, a GOP sympathizer.
  • Josh Green is the worst. He needs to go along with Ed Case. Failures and capitulators both.

  • Get rid of Ed Case! Get rid of DINOs in the state legislature and local government. We need people who stand up for rule of law, our immigrant community members, against corporations and billionaires and outside investors.
  • We need those with a strong backbone to stand up to the brutality coming from those who do NOT follow the Rule of Law, nor their Oaths of Office to protect & defend the American People & the US Constitution from ALL hazards both foreign & domestic.
  • TAX THE RICH must come to Hawai’i!
  • PROTECT MEDICARE & MEDICAID FOR ALL!
  • GET BIG MONEY OUT OF POLITICS.
  • INTEGRITY, HONESTY, ACCOUNTABILITY.
  • Outspoken, forceful and allied with like-minded States. Stop sending any revenues to DC.
  • Respect Hawaiian values. Stop take over by billionaires, particularly Zionists. Personal integrity.
  • This survey is bad. Fair elections and rule of law need to protect, Hawaiian and immigrants and workers and LGBT and education and the environment and social services and keep rents reasonable. That's good governance. It should also hold politicians and corrupt persons and corporations accountable.

  • Do whatever is necessary to protect democracy!
  • Protect, Preserve, Civil Rights more than corporate power forever
  • Have the guts to stand up for the people and against the trump regime.
  • They ALL need to make much more of an effort to show up; town halls, etc., listen and RESPOND to constituents and most of all - take action to solve our most pressing issues
  • Old Democrats OUT
  • Hawaii isn’t for sale and our elected officials are not for sale either!
  • We need to galvanize to WIN. Some of the fringe issues are not feasible to winning and its extremely stressful to see big focus on things like trans issues which affect less than 1% .I'm not insensitive to that, however nationally its a loser.
  • We don't need people's personal ambitions (talking about Brian Schatz) to win over protecting people, especially those being attacked by Trump (immigrants, women, trans people) and our climate
  • Real representatives with an actual stake in the islands they represent, rather than tools of the corporations, real estate moguls, construction billionaires, and corrupt politicians in the city council, for example, who keep voting themselves raises while working people are left out on the streets or living in their cars.

  • We need to address the widespread corruption in our state government. We need honest politicians with integrity who support 100% transparency. We need progressive politicians who support working families, not rich corporations and oligarchs.
  • We need leadership that actually doesn't accept corporate money, folks who aren't willing to be bought and paid for so the oligarchs can get their way.
  • Rep. Ed Case’s early votes with the Trump administration were, I thought, a pitch for relevance but putting his vote at play has only enabled MAGA. Given the Trump threat to democracy, he look unconscionable. Rep. Tokuda clearly has the better approach. Sen. Hirono is not nearly active enough but Sen. Schatz is rising.
  • Real progressive leadership, not Ed Case!
  • He's a DINO
  • No corporate donors!
  • No more status quo fix the mess here CPS Crooked cops. The We will ok any construction , no fix the infrastructure. Get transportation other than flying to outer islands.
  • We need real, out of the box, thinking and new strategies to address some of our most pressing problems. Housing is one example. It is time ask basic questions about how we build, buy, sell and use residential property. It is time to look for some new answers to help fix our very broken system.

  • Just like for the whole country we need leaders that stop subsidizing corporations and prioritizing profits over people. We need leaders who are willing to push back against the outdated definitions of capitalism ( as positive), socialism and communism ( as negative) and give the people a vocabulary to address the serious needs of our communities that allow for real investment in social safety nets, education, climate injustice, etc.
  • Strong pro-democratic stance and actions to protect We the people of Hawaii and the US from cruelty and overreach of the federal government.
  • We need members of Congress to remind the State House and Senate that they need to stop with their infighting and work every day to tackle the issues like homelessness, housing, climate change, supporting our public education system, and real access to healthcare.
  • I think we are lucky to have good leaders in Congress from Hawaii. As a Big Island resident, I worry that Democrats here take their power too much for granted, especially in the state legislature. I think many people don’t see the state government working for them, and that leads to dissatisfaction with the whole Party. Some of these concerns are overblown, but others are justified. As a blue state with single party control, Hawaii should work harder to show other states that Democrats can govern well when they are in power.
  • I’m a Hawaiian from keaukaha. The thing about being a state is that we are part of America. Illegal immigrants are criminals by definition of the law. They aren’t engineers and innovators, they have come to get

  • Support for ALL PEOPLE. Nobody should have to watch their child suffer and possibly die due to lack of health CARE. Education needs to be accessible to all as much as possible clear through higher education. KEEP $ OUT of politics! Mega rich need to pay their fair share to help support the people and country
  • stop the old boy's club of politicians that have been in office since the 70's. uphold what the people who voted you into office want - No TMT on the Big Island, less tourism and work towards Hawaii being more self sustainable
  • Actual leadership. Democracy in Hawaii is broken. I support most of the FairVote reform proposals.
  • Respect the power of the truth of Aloha that is the basis of our values here and don't conform to there
  • Locally I think the way green is ignoring our feelings about pohakuloa and Hawaiian rights is awful.
  • Expand the Supreme Court ASAP.
  • Hawaii leaders must be willing to protect our islands from climate threats, strengthen healthcare, education, and honor local values of each community. They must be willing to stand up for every day people and not bow down to current threats on freedoms and democracy.

  • Strong, impervious to pressures from billionaires, investors from the continent, and shady developers. Someone who fights for the working people of Hawai’i and fights for our first amendment and all our civil rights.
  • Elect only or more progressive candidates that have proven to care more about the underprivileged then greedy Republicans and Libertarians.
  • We can't have representatives who vote to disenfranchise voters, as Ed Case did for the Save act
  • We need coalition builders that listen across the political spectrum of conservative, progressive and moderate democracy loving citizens. Push civic education along with a strong inclusion in the DOE, community colleges on teaching economics and finance -- us regular folks need to NOT be so DUMB and phobic about our money and moneymaking.
  • We need leaders who are fighters
  • Strong voices. Honestly in today's world, you need to be in the news or social media showing how you are standing up against corruption and in favor of the common folk.
  • Integrity and courage to stand up to the power of the mega-wealthy
  • Bold, brave, articulate, strategic leadership.
  • Strong, courageous leadership whose hearts are compassionate.

Jill Tokuda Constituents (8/19)

  • Leaders who are courageous, support the working class and have the integrety and strength of character to withstand attacks by the opposition.
  • Strong voice and be willing to stand tough whenever necessary.
  • Honest, transparent leadership . Someone with the courage to stand up to the Republicans or others who threaten our democracy. Also, someone with compassion for the less fortunate.
  • that made and keep them rich, but not BUY what/whomever they want!
  • How about leaders that aren’t corrupt.
  • Eliminate the good ‘ol’ boy system and quit stalling on the important things;
  • get rid of the corruption once and for allGet rid of corruption and nepotsm and favoritism.
  • Malama aina...stand up to corporate interests. Stop CITIZENS UNITED and hold Donald Trump accountable.
  • People that are not afraid to stand up to the current administration. I neglected to add stricter gun control, especially to ban assault weapons and all ammunition controlled and thorough back ground checks.

  • Respect and honor native Hawaiian issues. Keep the military in check on their use of the land. I would love to see more access to recycling items - which also gets to respecting the land, climate, etc.
  • We need to get rid of the deadwood and get younger, stronger leaders.
  • Stop taking $$ from out of state organizations especially PACs.
  • We need leaders who are unafraid to step up and hold their ground.
  • We need leaders who will fight corruption HERE as well as for the nation.
  • I am not seeing enough push back against the presidents overreach.
  • Need to plan ahead for our next Senator to Washington DC, again a strong Democrat like Mazie. Need to replace Ed Case with a stronger Democrat that can win in his area. Get out the vote campaign for young people. Progressive plans, no old boy politics.
  • Someone who speaks the truth and stands up for regular people not the rich and corporations.
  • We need leaders at the local level with the political courage to stand up to special interest, loud vocal minorities who impede progress towards affordable housing, clean energy and rooting out political corruption
  • New voices. Leaders rather than lock-step politicians looking to move up the political chain.

Jill Tokuda Constituents (10/19)

  • People who actually make things happen!
  • be relatable! no need to make sure I know they are anti-trump and anti-fascism... I will discern that in their public statements. I expect our Congressional rep and Senator to balance the need to fight for issues specific to Hawaii as well as our nation as a while.
  • Have a plan with identifiable goals consistent with our shared values.
  • Don't be a vague democrat like I perceive Ed Case to be.
  • I would like more leadership by politicians to fight the corruption in our Hawaii government
  • Less grandstanding, less pointing fingers. work on the issues that affect people's day to day lives. Speaker Nakamura in the House is a good example of working towards fixing practical problems facing our residents and not at all about grandstanding or political theater.
  • Add Amendments or whatever is needed to make the Articles of the Constitution enforceable rather than a simple Gentleman's Agreement as it has turned out to be.
  • I feel proud that my Congressional delegation has held the line, I would like them to be even more forceful about it, Courage is contagious~
  • Tell constituents about the cost of government services, and if we want more/better services, we need to pay higher taxes.

  • It would be nice if representatives actually asked our opinion via polls, town halls, etc., on topics, upcoming bills, etc., and then voted accordingly. If they really wanted our input, it would be easy via their website by setting input controls that only accept votes or comments from their actual constituents.
  • We need leadership that acknowledges the existential crisis presented by climate change and really lean in on policy that mitigates climate change
  • Someone who doesn’t accept slackness in the way things are done here just because we are different than other states
  • We need strong leadership who will speak up and act.
  • I see a lot of new guard members and I hope their numbers grow larger and their coalitions stronger so they are able to fight the corruption and bullying.
  • Again focusing on issues important on both the local AND national level: mainly affordable housing, good paying jobs, cost of living and affordable AND accessible healthcare
  • Demonstrate real concern for our local communities, like fixing streets, stopping an illegal towing company/26unkyard in our neighborhood, implement noise ordinances, use common sense in providing housing for fire victims, support local businesses
  • Educated with facts but balanced with aloha.

  • We are unique on these islands way out in the Pacific. We are a mishmash of every culture. Our lives are intertwined with just a few degrees of separation instead of seven. We all have to paddle together or we’re not going anywhere.
  • be inspiring!
  • We need hard working, honest representatives that stay connected to the people and reach out to us with the information we need to live a healthy and productive life.
  • Band together, i have been 100% behind our seeking inclusionary candidates. As we learned last election, that did not get us votes. I will support any white male democrat even if there is a female i think is better suited. I love Senator Amy from Minnesota. I think she would be a great president and our democracy is too important to risk it. I feel sad to say this, giving up on a women president in my lifetime. We have to go for who the middle could appeal to.
  • We need someone other than Ed Case. He's not my representative though.
  • work to diversify our economy.
  • More leaders that are not beholden to developers.
  • One who takes a strong stance against President Trump's interference in local politics.
  • Someone who cannot be bought by big money.
  • Honest, even if it painful.

  • I support Rep. Jill Tokuda for reelection and i also hope Rep. Della Au Bellati will be elected for for HI USA Rep District 1 against Ed Case.
  • Our elected officials need to reflect who we are, as a multiculturral, indigenously grounded and diverse, open and liberal and inclusive State
  • Honest and forward-looking individuals who never succumb to old boys’ networks.
  • Legislative leaders who are committee chairs should not have the power to kill measures and should be required to adhere to Sunshine laws.
  • As is bringing in fossil fuels.
  • I want a candidate that is accessible to the people. Jill Takuda has done an excellent job in this regard.
  • We need accountable people like Jill Tokuda.
  • Jill Takuda I have seen fight.
  • Someone who is not afraid to address tough issues like housing, sustainable living, etc.
  • Mazie and Tokuda seems like they are fighting. Case needs to step up his game and actions to a much more active and stronger stance.
  • I think JOSH GREEN is doing an outstanding job. I also think that Brian Schatz and Mazie Hirono have been bold in their speeches.

  • I would love a state Constitutional Convention.
  • More like Jill Tokuda and Dru Kanuha.
  • The kind of servant/leader who listens and is steady and hardworking. Like Jill Tokuda and Dru Kanuha, for example.
  • Ignore the consultants. Be like Zohran Mamdani
  • Younger, more innovative; ability to reach across differences in ideology and background, like a younger Bernie Sanders, a Zorhan Mamdani
  • Leaders that understand that Hawaii is a state in the United States. We have special needs and circumstances, but that can be said about any place.
  • Someone who doesn't forget their roots and responds to constituents
  • must commit to getting big, dark money out of elections.
  • Nationally oriented, locally focused.
  • I think our governer is just great. He does not shrink at telling Trump off
  • I have been very happy with our Senators. Our local county reps are passing many laws to take away rights and make life more difficult for locals.
  • Mazie Hirono and Brian Schatz are accomplishing great things for Hawaii

  • The Hawaii Senators seem to be doing okay. I'm a bit concerned about Sen Schatz as he seems to have goals to become minority or majority leader in the Senate which may mean he is much more winning to compromise.
  • Overall, I do like my house rep and our 2 senators. I would encourage them to keep trying to influence and persuade their Republican colleagues to represent the interests of all the people.
  • I like our senator and representatives. Our Governor as well. Governor Green is always on it to push back on Trump. Our senators as well. Our house representative, not so much.
  • I’m proud of my reps and support them 100%.
  • I’m pretty happy with the leadership here but I loathe Trump and all of his cronies
  • Integrity and honesty are the most important qualities I want in a representative
  • we need leaders with integrity who stand up to corruption and help the vulnerable
  • Honesty
  • We need more transparency anad honesty from our electeds
  • We need leaders, not followers
  • Strong, bold speak for the people. And also just show up!
  • Not Ed Case. Jill, Mazie, and Brian are doing a great job.

  • Hawaii it’s not a worry, except for Ed Case - he needs to go. He is not for the people nor does he response to the people. He also votes for the Republican on devastating bills.
  • Not what we have now.
  • Younger-newer is better.
  • Things become stat when the same people keep returning to office.
  • Replace ED Case.
  • State leaders in HI sure are. I don’t think that’s an issue with the federal electeds.
  • I don’t want to have crooked politicians.
  • I don’t want to have crooked politicians.
  • Are we really stuck with a pair of party-line backbenchers for the rest of our lives?
  • I;m definitely satisfied with Hirono, Tokuda, Schatz (he's great) and Josh Green (ditto)
  • I think it's pretty good overall, again transparency...waiting for a press release on what HAS been done, is not enough!
  • They need to be pono and not brown-nosers
  • I am impressed with the island culture top to bottom
  • We have great representatives.

144 of 151

Jill Tokuda Constituents (18/19)

  • I am encouraged with Green's administration so far. We need/want leaders who will listen to the public and focus on real issues, homelessness, education, inefficiency in government.
  • Get together with Gavin to see how all blue states can come even more together to plan our future.
  • I admire how JB Pritzker is handling the Trump administration.
  • I'd like to see more support for better healthcare and education across the Islands!
  • I needed more than 5 boxes in the first question
  • allow more conversations between and among folks with opposite political beliefs
  • I think we have great leadership across HI, from the governor to the House/Senate.
  • Less Representatives
  • Be polite yet firm in your actions.
  • Just be strong!

  • People first
  • I’m thankful to be here and I appreciate their leadership.
