1. How many credits must a student earn for promotion to 10^th grade?
2. True or False: For admission, many colleges & universities require that students earn at least 2 Foreign/Modern language credits.
3. True or False: Taking a Foreign/Modern language is a requirement for high school graduation.
4. True or False: The ACT and SAT must be taken as a requirement for high school graduation.
5. True or False: If a student fails a class, retakes and earns a passing grade, the new grade replaces the failed grade.

THE 4 BY 4 BLOCK SCHEDULE

• CLASS/BLOCK ABOUT 90 MINUTES LONG
• 4 CLASSES/BLOCKS A DAY
• 4 NEW CLASSES SECOND SEMESTER (UNLESS CLASS IS YEAR LONG)
• PRIDE (HOMEROOM) ON TUESDAYS AND THURSDAYS AFTER 1ST BLOCK
• ALL GRADES TRANSITION TOGETHER
• SOME CLASSES HAVE MIXED GRADE LEVELS
• LUNCH ALWAYS DURING 3RD BLOCK

• You will receive a form from your middle school and you must indicate if you would like the Carnegie unit or not.
• Credit will not be given if the form is not returned
• The credit will show as a “P” on your high school transcript and will not affect your GPA

GEORGIA HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATION CREDIT REQUIREMENTS

• 4 Language Arts
• 4 Math
• 4 Science
• 3 Social Studies
• 3 Foreign-Modern Language, Computer-Technology-Education (CTE), and/or Fine Arts
• 4 Electives (any)
• 1 Health/Physical Education (“Personal Fitness”)

(3 Credits of ROTC can be used to replace the Health/PE graduation requirement)

• Don’t be too stressed → Academic help available
• End Zone (Tutoring help in MC)
• No pass required
• Work on projects, homework, study, tutoring
• Monday → Thursday; 2:30 to 4:30
• Join clubs or play a sport!!!
• Take AP classes and take the exams
• COLLEGE CREDIT
• Attend as many events as you can
