Terms Of Services
Following our initial conversation, below objectives were defined.
Business Objectives
Currently, not wearing gloves and getting some cuts. Would like to make sure they are protected, so they can reduce potential injuries.
01
They need employee compliance, since their current culture is no gloves, due to the need for dexterity.
02
14/DEC/2021
3
Executive Summary
Initial costs will run higher, since you are going from no gloves to cut resistant gloves. Also, there are a couple options, which once narrowed down, will also help to reduce estimated costs.
01
Cost Performance
You currently have Fastenal vending in place, so the cut resistant gloves could be added. This would give you tighter controls, since recommending more expensive PPE.
02
Vending
No injuries numbers are costs were given, but an average first aid injury could be around $100, just for the production down time and other soft costs. Any recordable injuries to the hand averages around $6,000 each. BLS is around $22,000 each, but they factor in amputations, which thank goodness are not common.
03
Injury Prevention
I would be willing to help train employees on why the various gloves were recommended.

Job Description
They feed the bobbins with threads, cut with safety knives or shoe knives. Run machines (automated), runs about an hour. Has around 24 spools a machine.
Application Detail
Critical Factors,Safety Concerns and Observations
Currently, not wearing gloves, since they need tons of dexterity (other than the Body Guard black disposable nitrile to apply lubricant to the machines, as needed). They do cutting with the shoe knife, they should have a cut glove. The safety knife should be fine. They also move some bobbins, and equipment, which could have sharp ends. They could try the 11-318 A2 cut liner, which could be worn by itself, or under black disposables. , The 11-518 A2 cut glove is the next thinnest option for cut gloves. The 11-754 A4 cut is best for changes the blades out of the cutters. The current Body Guard black disposable nitrile is fine, but I'm suggestion our MK-296 Mid-Night, only because it comes in size 2XL. Coating has another brand, just for size 2XL.

Job Description
Cut large braids to size. Splice rope. They manually finish the ends of the braids. They cut with scissors, razors and knives. They have a lot of friction when the rope moves at high speeds. Also, use heat guns to add labels to rope. Small burning tools (red hot) is used to burn fringe of rope off. They have a cutting station, which uses a large butcher knife to cut large diameter rope.
Application Detail
Critical Factors,Safety Concerns and Observations
They currently wear a leather palm or leather drivers glove, due to friction of rope and heating tools. Not currently wearing a cut resistant glove.Leather is fine for what they are doing, but try either the 48-703 A4 cut or 70-765 A5 cut both with leather palms to also help with the heat and friction.Changing out the razor knives of the cutters, they could wear the 11-754 A4 cut gloves. The lightest cut level glove is A9. We have A8 with our 74-301, but we also have two regular style gloves they might like: 11-542 A7 cut or the 11-751 A7, but very light weight. I would feel better with the 11-542 for this application.

Basically, wearing the black nitrile disposable gloves for inks. I noted there was interested in better abrasion and FR protection? If so, I would wear the 80-813, which is arc flash 2, not for shock but for FR, and also is A4 cut resistant and abrasion resistant palm with neoprene palm coating. The current Body Guard black disposable nitrile is fine, but I'm suggestion our MK-296 Mid-Night, only because it comes in size 2XL.
