Who We Are: REA
The Regenerative Education Alliance connects people, especially young people, to land, food systems, and community through hands-on regenerative agriculture education. We are a field organization that occasionally comes inside.

Supervised
Projects are supervised by REA and Fern Homestead staff throughout.
Documented
Interns keep a weekly journal and conclude with a formal presentation.
Selected
Projects are chosen based on intern interest, the farm calendar, and availability.

Project Tracks: Animal & Land
Adopt a Goat
Oversee a pregnant goat through late pregnancy, birth, and early postnatal development.
Irrigation & Water
Plan and install or repair a drip, overhead, greenhouse, or rainwater system.
Fencing & Enclosures
Identify a need, develop a plan, and complete the installation.
Managed Grazing
Rotational grazing principles across four full cycles, plus a self-designed spring grazing plan.

Project Tracks: Agricultural Products
Crop Planning &�Production
A full crop cycle from planning to seed to harvest, with a weekly journal.
Harvest, Cooking,�& Preservation
Harvest techniques, seasonal farm to table options, and preservation for year round options.
Milking &�Cheesemaking
Hands-on dairy production, from milking through cheese-making and eating (of course).
Fiber Arts
Wash, card, and finish raw wool into a dyed, spun, felted, or knitted piece.

A working regenerative farm just outside Petaluma...
Fern Homestead is home to goats, sheep, chickens, and livestock guardian dogs living in rotational balance alongside gardens, orchards, and hedgerows built for food and pollinator habitat. It's where every Rooted 201 track comes to life.
