McKamy Robotics Club

  • 7th and 8th grade students
  • Participate in First Robotics FTC
    • where students design, build and program an 18”x18”18” robot
    • to compete on a 12ft by 12 ft field
    • In addition, the competition involves outreach & documentation
  • Compete in local league (30+ teams)
      • 3 league meets, 1 league tournament
      • Can advance to additional competitions
  • 6-10 students per team, 2 parent mentors
  • Teams meet weekly 2-3 hours
  • Monthly student club meetings

STEM based program where students design, build, and program robots (feeder program to FMHS Tech Club)

The 2024-25 game, Into the Deep - will be released on 9/7/24.

McKamy Robotics Booster Club

  • Manges membership funds, reimbursements, and kits
    • Reimburse First Robotics registration fees per team
    • Access to robotics kit for the year (kits cost ~$1000)
    • Reimburse league and competition fees ($250+ per team)
    • Discretionary budget for parts ($350+ per team)
    • Team t-shirts
    • Help with team formation, coordinate across teams
    • Access to a game field, support from FHMS Tech Club
  • All parents encouraged to join, parent mentors and board members must be part of the Booster Club
  • *$150 per new student, $100 for returning
  • *$50 Mentor membership for the booster club (Optional)

We cannot form teams without two parent mentors per team

  • Saturday, Sept. 7th - FTC Kick-Off Event at Marcus 9:30am

  • Talk to your student about their commitment and interest in robotics
  • Consider serving as a parent mentor for a team
  • Join the Booster Board
  • Make sure you can accommodate the time commitments
  • Use the correct parent email on your submission form
