Try out Information

FAMILY ID

YOU MUST REGISTER TO TRY OUT!

Family ID is used by the school district as a means for you to register your child for a sport. You MUST register your child through Family ID before they can begin tryouts for the season. Check the BSCD website for enrollment dates.

JV and Varsity - Opens July 25, closes August 17

Modified - Opens August 1, closes August 24

JV and Varsity Tryouts:�August 24-26

  • Times will be determined based on the turf schedule.
  • Parent Meeting to follow

Modified Tryouts:

August 31-Sept 2

  • Location: Ray Middle School.. time TBD.
  • Tryouts run for 3 days and then regular season practices will take place after school.
  • Any athlete trying out for modified that does not want to commit to buying a stick yet we have some that you can use. We will have extra sticks available at our summer clinic and camp as well.

Always come to practice with:

-Water, -Shin guards, -Mouth guards, -Stick, -Sneakers and cleats(both everyday), -Proper clothing for weather

Season Expectations

Player expectations:

1. Keep up with school work and remain in good academic standing.

2. Always abide by the Athletic Code of Conduct and do not put yourself in situations that could jeopardize yourself or your team.

3. Be on time (10-15 mins before start time) to all team functions (practices, games, team events). If you are going to be late or absent, notify the coach ahead of time.

4. Always come prepared and give full focus and effort during all practices and games.

5. Always practice good sportsmanship/character; not only with your teammates but your opponents and officials as well. Make a point with how you play, not what you say.

6. Make your team a priority. **

Goals for Pre-Season:

Run continuously for 40-60 minutes

1 Mile Run – under 8 min 30 sec

Booster Club Volunteers

MANY HANDS MAKE LIGHT WORK

Concessions Chairpersons: Responsible for organizing and overseeing the setup of concessions, cooking/preparing food, taking orders, and closing down the stand

Fundraising Chairpersons: Responsible for organizing fundraising events: Sal’s Night, Chipotle or Chik-Fil-A Night & more

Team Moms and Dads: Coordinate with coaches for fun activities

Bingo and Baskets Chairpersons: Responsible for basket set up, ticket preparation, food, water, set up and clean up

Apparel Store Chairpersons: Responsible for selecting a vendor and items for our apparel store. This volunteer will be the contact person for the vendor and relay all updates to the board at our meetings. They will also receive shipments and communicate distribution of purchased items to field hockey families

Senior Night Chairpersons: Responsible for planning the game day events – including Senior/Parent Pictures, procuring Senior Gifts, Senior/Parent Introductions and post game gathering. Junior parent preferred

Banquet Chairpersons: Responsible for planning and executing the event – including event agenda, procuring refreshments, location, meals, and team pictures/slideshow of season highlights.
