Our Arguments for CC-Licensing

• Public Money - Public Good!
• all of us already paid for this content.

• Bigger audience through CC-licensing and Wikipedia
• millions of views per month possible.

• Wikipedia <-> public broadcasters
• Both are pro-democratic & anti-misinformation.

Your Arguments for CC-Licensing?

Are there any more arguments that you can think of for why public broadcasting agencies should release (educational) content under a free CC-license?

It doesn’t have to be explanatory videos

Wikipedia also needs footage without commentary:

• Release of 14 Clips of the “Daily Drone” under CC BY 4.0; all of them integrated into Wikipedia
• High demand in the community for simple footage without commentary that complements the article text
• Advantage: factual mistakes or simplified depictions are hardly possible
• Often times good production value (although good atmospheric background noise is desirable)
