Zoom Meetings

LIVE ONLINE LEARNING (students meet with a teacher online):

Students will meet online with their teacher on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday for Morning Meeting, small group instruction for Reading, Writing, and math, and Closing Circle.

ON DEMAND ONLINE LEARNING (students log-in and view posted videos and assignments):

On Demand videos and assignments will be posted on Google Classroom at 4:00 p.m. daily. Students will be given 48 hours to submit their work for it to be given full credit.

On Wednesdays, students will not meet with teachers. Students will have required tasks each week, and will also have optional tasks available. Learning tasks could include social studies, science, math, reading, or writing tasks as well as activities from specials’ teachers (art, P.E, music, guidance). Every other week, specials teachers will be offering live Zoom classes. Check your daily checklist in Google Classroom for details!

Families/students can submit a help desk ticket (google form) from our website:

Username is always the student number. It depends on the service, but is is usually their full email address (@student.southeastpolk.org)
Password scheme for grades K - 2: sepram + first initial + last initial

Daily Schedule

Teachers will provide each student with an individualized schedule. Students will be participating in a mixture of Zoom instruction (whole or small group) and independent work time throughout the day.

Sit with a wall at your back when possible.
Get permission to take photos, video, or screenshots.

Parent/Guardian Expectations

Stay positive about school work
Make sure that the students complete and turn in their assignments on time
Remember that your child’s school work is graded. Work completion is important and REQUIRED!
Help the children with time management

Set aside time each day for completing work
Set up a special learning space at home for the child
Please do not ask to complete assignments late at night. Bedtime is important!

Check your email frequently to stay updated on announcements, etc.
Your child will have times when they struggle with their learning, however this is to be expected. Please coach and guide your child during this process of learning new skills, but please do not complete the work for your child.
At any time you have questions or your child is stuck

Setting Up a Learning Space

Learning Space

Please set up a learning space in your home with a flat writing surface, such as a table or desk. Please do not work from a bed, the floor, or the couch.
Choose a location with as few distractions as possible. Please try to limit outside influences such as pets, siblings, or TV.
Have all materials ready before the Zoom meeting begins

Microphone (for certain students who were issued a replacement microphone)
