  • Reddick-Olsen Cholangiogram catheter

Features ; typically, 4 Fr – 5 Fr , 50 cm single use with a balloon tip

Has a scooped-tip curved introducer - allows stable placement without clamping , also allows for atraumatic insertion

Balloon – can be advanced into the the CBD for transcystic removal of stones , it also increases slip resistance – anchoring it in the cystic duct

  • Alternatively – one can use Reddick-Olsen Clamp
  • Has a channel through the clamp to allow passage of the catheter
  • Jaw of the clamp are opened – catheter passes beyond the jaw , once catheter is in place the jaws are closed allowing for seal around cystic duct and cholangiocatheter . Preventing leakage of contrast

  • Kumar Cholangiocatheter ( Kumar Clamp and Catheter system )
  • Features : Usually 5 Fr catheter , with a 19-gauge needle tip
  • Designed to pass through the Kumar clamp
  • Hartmann;s pouch puncture : usually used in inflamed , short cystic duct ; avoids duct incision

BAKES COMMON DUCT DILATOR

  • Used to dilate common bile duct – to facilitate stone removal , address strictures etc
  • Tradiotoionally used in open surgery
  • Probe-shaped tip – minimizes tissue trauma
  • Sizes : It comes in multiple sizes : set of 9 dilators – sizes from 3mm to 11 mm
