3.4 Making Permanent Shelters Lizzie, Adrienna, and Savannah

  • Early humans made permanent shelter
  • They could make better, bigger, and sturdier homes
  • They also could use hot rocks to boil water.
  • The skills helped them build larger communities

They discovered new ways to cook, how to keep warm, and make sturdy shelters to protect them from natural disasters.

3.4 Making Permanent Shelters: By Brandon, Zen, Mon’tay

During the Neolithic Age, humans learned how to make permanent shelters. That has allowed humans to:

  • Protect them from harsh weather
  • Make life more comfortable
  • Find new ways of cooking food
  • Form larger communities

3.5 Establishing Communities Maddie, Gaby, Elizabeth, Gianara

With the ability to establish community, they were able to;

1. work together and divide up work.

2. organize themselves.

3. trade goods and services.

This ultimately helped them survive easier and be more efficient.

  • Living in communities allowed people to organize themselves more efficiently
  • They could divide up the work of producing food and other things they needed
  • Before starting farming everyday things were hard
  • Neolithic villages were the first real communities

  • They made a way to spin and weave wool faster
  • Polish stones to make shiny jewelry
  • Made pottery and baskets to carry more things
  • Created sharper tools and better tools

3.6 Developing New Jobs Ali, Lucas, Jonathan, Mahir

  • Ability to get a single job
  • Could make clothing, get goods, make, food, and develop more skills
  • Could have a wonderful and better community
  • Could have a stable job and good supply of food, and tools and trade and weave things

3.7 Beginning to Trade: Alex, Alex, JJ

  • A skill that early humans developed is the ability to trade
  • Some things that people traded were: Obsidian and flint and obsidian is a black glass from volcanic mountains
  • Obsidian could be used to make arrowheads,spears, and knife blades
  • This allowed people to craft weapons and use objects that weren’t obtainable in the area that they lived in.

•Trading began during the Neolithic Age

•By doing this, people can obtain resources they don’t have in their area

•More people came in contact with one another because of this

•These contacts with others helped spread knowledge and ideas
