  • For email sign in:
    • In Chrome, go to Incognito mode

(Or use a different browser, not Safari))

    • Go to app.seesaw.me

35 of 40

Part 4: LOGGING IN AS A PARENT

  • For mobile devices, parents need to download the Seesaw Parent & Family app. Or they can just use their laptop.
  • The way parents get started on Seesaw depends on which way the teacher invites them
  • For paper invites, a parent can choose to join via QR code (scanned with app) or via link. The QR code will connect the parent directly to their child’s account. The link will connect to the class account, then they need to choose their child.
  • For email invites, the parent will join via link only. Once the parent has joined with the link, he/she will be able to use the mobile app

35

bit.ly/SylSeesaw

36 of 40

  • When a parent opens the app for the first time, options are “Family Sign-in”; “Create Family Account”, or “Sign in with Google”. If this is the first time they have used it, tap “Create Family Account”.
  • I recommend “Sign in with Google”. Once they have created an account, they will be able to view their child’s journal.
  • A parent sees only Teacher announcements and things in their own child’s journal.

36

bit.ly/SylSeesaw

37 of 40

Part 5: blogging

  • Blogging is an option with Seesaw. It’s a little confusing to understand the difference between a journal/digital portfolio and a blog.
  • Whenever a student uploads content, it automatically goes to their journal.

  • Only students in his class, his teacher and his parents can see a student’s journal content.
  • Once you enable the blog (Class settings > Class blog > Enable blog), a student can add a journal entry to the blog by clicking on the globe icon under his post

37

bit.ly/SylSeesaw

38 of 40

  • You can connect your blog to other Seesaw blogs in your school, community, and around the world:

Class settings > Class blog > Connect to blog > Enter blog URL
