Techniques to Promote Growth Mindsets

  • Label behaviour e.g. “that was a smart step to take”, not the people e.g. “you’re not a very creative person”.
  • Publicly and overtly praise students for effort, concentration & effectiveness of strategies.
  • Use constructive feedback.
  • Run short discussion and evaluation activities with students to raise their awareness of mindset and how it can affect their lives and success
