The ERF has been underutilized.

Users have told us:

  • It’s too long
  • Navigation is a pain
  • Previous events can’t be copied
  • Hard to gather all the details

Issue: ERF is underutilized…

“Long, confusing”

? What’s an ‘Event?”

14 of 35

Did you know: the ERF isn’t just for ‘requesting’ resources?

The ERF is also for logging event activity

  • Even when no resources are needed
  • Examples: Alliance meetings, Ambassador outreach, etc.

Skipping the ERF means many events are never logged.

14

SLIDE: Problem: The ERF isn’t just for “Requesting” resources… It’s also for capturing event data. But some people don’t realize that!

Some event organizers may not be aware…

15 of 35

“Lost” events:

By some estimates, as many as 50% of Braver Angels events go unrecorded.

The Real Cost of Lost Impact Data

Lost Funding

Lost Recognition

We lose the ability to convey our true impact to donors.

We want to be able to recognize alliances and volunteers.

A Shift in Mindset: Make Every Event Count

Even if you don’t need resources from us, it’s important that we still hear from you.

So… what’s an “event?”

19

SLIDE: Question: “What’s an Event”

?

20 of 35

An “event” is:

Any scheduled gathering at the local, state, or national level—online or in person—that supports Braver Angels’ mission and/or growth.

Includes:

  • gatherings with a defined agenda or program like workshops or Alliance meetings
  • organized outreach efforts such as presentations, tabling, or recruitment.

Note: this definition is broad.

It includes Alliance meetings and most Ambassador activities.

Where’s the line?

where is the line? Pics of 1-1 meeting, folks eating at restaurant

23 of 35

What counts as an “event?”

  1. Scheduled: A specific date and time are set.
  2. Brings People Together: Involves participants or the public, not just organizers.
  3. Program or Outreach Activity: Defined agenda, presentation, or organized engagement.
  4. Supports Mission: advances Braver Angels’ mission; grows membership or reach.
  5. Organized at Any Level: national, state, or local; online or in person.

If all five of these are true:

23

an activity is a braver Angels ‘event’ if all of the following are true:

  1. It’s scheduled. A date and time are set.
  2. It brings people together beyond the organizers. The event involves participants or the public, not just internal planning.
  3. There’s a program or outreach activity. The event is a workshop, meeting, presentation, tabling or recruiting event, or any organized effort to engage people.
  4. It supports the Braver Angels mission and/or growth. It advances the mission of Braver Angels and/or grows membership, subscriptions, or organizational reach.
  5. It’s organized at any level — national, state, or local; online or in person.
