I'm a real wild one, WILD ONE, WILD ONE, WILD ONE

Well, I'm just outta school, like I'm real, real cool

Gotta dance like a fool, got the message that I gotta be a WILD ONE

Ooh, yeah, I'm a WILD ONE

Gonna break it loose, gonna keep 'em movin' wild

Gonna keep a-swingin', baby, I'm a real wild child

Gonna meet all my friends, gonna have ourself a ball

Gonna tell my friends, gonna tell them all that I'm a WILD ONE

Ooh, yeah, I'm a WILD ONE

Gonna break it loose, gonna keep 'em movin' wild

Gonna keep a-swingin' baby, I'm a real wild child

I'm a real wild one and I like a wild fun

In a world gone crazy, everything seems hazy, I'm a WILD ONE

Ooh, yeah,…

- REAL WILD ONE Lyrics By Iggy Pop

WILDONES CONCEPT

LOG LINE: Enlightened and Free Beings unlimited by Time, Space or Reality dance through the halls of human power - uninvited but ever-present - revisiting their past-life selves, as they struggle to become free.

SYNOPSIS: WILDONES is a series of episodic video, VR and photographic works combining Contemporary Dance, Art, VR and Film. The first proof of concept was completed in 2018 at the Chateau d’Orquevaux and featured in The World Of Interiors Magazine and at the iconic Adelaide Festival Centre in December 2024.

Drawing upon inspirations such as SIA, RUSSIAN ARC, PINA BAUSCH, and AMADEUS, WILDONES is centred on Enlightened Beings who dance and interact with past-life aspects of themselves, within sacred human institutions of power, unseen by the power players who revere them. Unlimited by fear, these illustrious wild ones walk through walls, fly through chandeliers and smell wood — like it’s the very first time.

Unattached to human beliefs in Power & Significance, these timeless rebels revel in their Freedom to observe and exist beyond the strange little ways humans behave in service to their own grandiose beliefs in the illusion of power.

WILDONES SYNOPSIS

WILDONES appear to observe - while invisible and unseen - theatrical scenes of power players at private parties, pretend moments of historical and political importance and within private forbidden moments throughout multiple eras in human history.

Each character he/she/it observes is a mirror or past-life personality of each WILD ONE, spanning diverse cultures, ages and genders. After dramatic and comedic interactions through multiple scenes and rooms, each WILD ONE comes to a new level of wisdom - through dance - about the power and human dynamics that are occurring within its former lives. Consequently, the past-life personalities it encounters become freshly understood with wisdom and are free to be released into the ethers, realising their own enlightenment.

Each past-life personality becomes a ghost that disappears, until…. there is nobody left - except for the WILD ONEs - who finally and now fully integrated, disappear….. leaving only the perfume of their own Freedom in their wake.

WILDONES explores the theme: The End of Power. What if you could transcend Science, Matter, Hierarchy and Gravity to truly exist beyond the lImitations of form, social rank, and human biases such as Racism, Sexism and Gender Politics?

WILDONES empowers ‘minorities’ to experience a fantasy in which they are free from subjugation. Within the WILDONES universe, they transcend their lack of position through masterpiece performances, highlighting the absurdities of the unenlightened with compassion and outrageous dance.

SCENE SAMPLES

Marie Antoinette | the WILD ONE visits Marie, during a private party in which male suitors are being introduced to her as potential husbands. During the course of the many conversations she has with her confidants and the men who pursue her, we discover the deeper motivations and fears of Marie, as a young woman simply seeking to be loved and revered; and how her need to be loved expresses itself as a narcissistic defence mechanism, appearing to others as a lack of empathy for those in poverty. As WILD ONE dances amongst her, her subjects and suitors; she is forced into the uncomfortable position of exposing her true vulnerabilities behind the mask of superiority that she wears.

A Nazi politician (Karl) | the WILD ONE visits unenlightened Karl at a state dinner in which he is asked to make an on-the-spot decision about the fate of thousands of Jews on a Nazi hit list. During the dinner, he must deliver his decision and plans to the highest ranks of the party. With his precious wife and daughters present, Karl is under intense pressure to present his views and the solution he proposes, which they wish to make into law. He grapples with his growing sense of guilt - as he looks at his daughter watching on. As the WILD ONE dances amongst the guests, the effect of its radiance on the unconscious group, creates humorous and ‘magical’ effects, causing a stir that ends in a “final solution”, not even Karl dared to anticipate.

A Soldier Returns from War | In present time, a soldier returning from war stands over his child, contemplating death after his wife dies, during their last dance in their living room. The WILD ONE dances with the man it was, helping him to grieve for his dead wife, now limp in his arms. The soldier considers killing himself and their tiny innocent baby, unsure how he/they will go on, without the love of his life. A meditation on love and loss, the WILD ONE, as his eternal soul self, inspires a different course of action through a mere refraction of light on a window that catches his eye.
