Harrison Park’s ESL Program

This year students in K-5 will have certified ESL teachers push in to their classrooms for 30-35 minutes daily where they will work with the classroom teacher to address specific language needs for ESL students. The ESL teacher is the case manager for students in the classes they serve.

Students in middle school have one period of ESL in their schedule each day.

ESL 32.09%

We do not have this year’s current demographic information yet.

Classroom Teachers….

At Harrison Park looks like:

  • Teachers should be aware of all their ELL and be able to provide scaffolds for them within their classroom
  • Students grades, assessments, etc. will be looked at at frequently by our professional learning teams (classroom teachers, ESL teacher, administration, etc.)
  • Teachers may be trained in additional strategies to meet the need of their ELLs
  • Are encouraged to work with the qualified ESL teacher to provide additional support to students within assignments
  • Communicate with families as needed
