Big Idea:
I notice the world around me and can look more closely at things and ideas.
This week we will practice the studio habit called Observe. This means to look closely at the world around you. Let’s start with a video.

Take a photo!
Find an object from nature that you think is beautiful or interesting.
This can be something you find today or something you have saved from a different day.

I took this photo while on a walk in my neighborhood. I observed that the tree bark had peeled away from the base of the tree. It left a heart shape in the tree. I did not expect to find a heart shape in nature.

The artist Georgia O’Keeffe loved to observe flowers and seashells up close. She painted many details.
Find an object that you want to observe closely.

Observe & Reflect
Artists observe people in dramatic poses. Pose like an artwork. Use your body and facial expression.
Directions:
If you would like to, you may dress up or use objects to match the details in the artwork.
