How Are We Traveling to Letterland Today?
Today, we are going to travel to a wonderful, secret, imaginary place where the letters live. To get there, let’s imagine that we can fly through the sky. Let’s spread our wings and take off up into the clouds. Let’s zoom to the right. Let’s zoom to the left. Oh, I think I see our school down there. What do you see? Now let’s listen to a special song to help us find Letterland as we fly.
Quick Dash
This is _. This is how he/she looks in Letterland. Luckily we get to see him/her, but most people only see his/her plain letter in words. That’s because Letterland is a secret place!
Let’s see if we can use our special trick to work out. (Character name) (character sound)

Letterland Detective
Remember that Letterland Characters like to hide behind their plain letters when they are not in Letterland. As we look around the room today, we want to be Letterland Detectives. Detectives look for secrets that can be hard to find. When you find a Letterland character hiding behind their letter, tell all of us their sounds quietly so we can see them too, but don’t speak too loudly and don’t say their names. You don’t want to scare them off!
