High School Programs (AP and IB)

  • IB/AP programs are heavily promoted to the general student body, but still focused on certain demographics
  • Many programs start freshman year, and some students can be left out due to a lack of resources
  • Class and race
  • Overall equity issues
  • Each individual test costs upwards of $100 (students typically take 2-4 a year)
  • Exam prep to get credit for courses can be extremely expensive
  • Testing resources may not be equally promoted/distributed (ex: SAT)
