The problem:
Many people have conflicting views about how and why the Civil War started. As you read in an Newsela article, students are taught differently about the Civil War, too. Some believe it was a fight over states’ rights. Some believe it was a fight over slavery.
Your challenge:
To create a message for history teachers about how the causes of the Civil War should be taught to all students. The message can take any form (letter, email, video, slideshow/screencast, etc.).
